Job Title: Third Engineer

Department: Engine

Reports to: Teamleader (First Engineer or Second Engineer)

Job summary

Being part of a team in charge of an engine watch, the third Engineer is engaged in operating and

maintaining propulsion engines and other auxiliary engines (generators), boilers, deck machinery

and electrical, refrigeration, and sanitary equipment aboard ship. e has to be familiar with

automation sytems (e.g. !BB, "almet ). e is in charge of obser#ing that required water le#els are

maintained in boilers, condensers and e#aporators, load on generators is within acceptable limits,

and oil and grease cups are kept full. $epairs machinery, using hand tools and power tools. %nder

the super#ision and in direct touch with his teamleader, he is in charge of maintaining pumps,machineries ,winches and other mechanical and electrical equipment or assist his teamleader with

maintenance and repair duties. &perates and maintains off'loading liquid pumps and #al#es.

$ecords orders for spare parts into nfoships software program * maintains in#entories and usage of

supplies.

e is required to follow company safety and pollution pre#ention policies and procedures and will

request super#isory guidance when necessary.

e is familiar with the + -ode and its requirements and with all duties under the -ostas +afety

anagement +ystem including Emergency $esponse !cti#ities

Job profile

e are looking for applicants possessing the following qualifications/

a. fluency in English in both reading and writing*

b. ertified as !fficer in charge of an engineering "atch other than second engineer

officer on ships po"ered by main propulsion po"er of #$% &" propulsion po"er or

more (unlimited) (as to regulation ''' of ST* +$ con,ention)* higher certification is

highly appreciated (as to regulation '''- of ST* +$ con,ention) al"ays unlimited/c. ! good knowledge of 0'stroke marine engines, diesel engines, , electric and support system

such as boilers, fuel centrifuges, air compressors, pumps, hydraulics, hotel systems,

plumbing, refrigeration, heating and air conditioning*

d. 1ood communicational skills also with other nationalities*

e. -omputer literate in !mos 2 or nfoship, ord 3 Excel and lotus notes e'mail*

f. 4lexibility, an analytic mindset, enthusiasm, stress resistant*

g. !ged between 56 and 76

h. 8wo to three years of similar experience on international passenger #essels or cargo or

ro3ro 3 petrolchimical or container ships*

i. 9re#ious experience as a motorman is highly appreciated
