POT OF GOLD
Premier League: Luke Mumford beat Carl Wil-
liams last week. He will defend his title when we resume play Division Two: Neal Pratten lost to James Bevan last week. James will de-fend the pot of gold when we resume fixtures. Division Three: Jacob Jones of the Queens B—no score card received
Congratulations to the Jockey A, who last week beat Llanbadarn 9-5 and with three matches to spare, have claimed the Premier league title. Cap-tain Steve Davies has praised the consistency of his team, after being runners up for the previous two seasons. The fire power at Steve`s dispos-al is there for all to see espe-cially with Matt Davies and Carl Clark fighting it out for the Player of the Year title, but it was fitting that it was left to the captain to clinch the title, when he beat Mar-tin Griffiths in the penulti-mate frame. The Full Montys who were reigning champions, have pushed them all of the way this season, beat the Lion Cubs 11-3. Nigel Owen 2/3 was on form for the Cubs, but the Monty lads had far to much punch for them, and it was Bob Pritchard 2/3 who put them out of their misery in the 11th frame. The Herbs are on the relegation tightrope, after a 9-5 defeat to the Ex-change. Barry Bellis 3/3 led by example, but again Aled Evans 2/3 fin-ished the match off when he beat Mark Green. This now leaves the Herbs (with one match left) only one point ahead of the Young Guns who have two matches to play. The Young Guns have given themselves a good chance of survival after an excellent 11-3win against the Nomads. Winning all three sessions, the MYG`s put in their best performance of the season and it was Josh Allen in the 11th, beating Neil Mitchell to seal both points. The Lion`s season is ending with a whimper rather than a roar, when they travelled to the Jockey, and returned with their tails between their legs. Missed chances galore, allowed the Jockey B to take a 7-5 lead with Adam Craig 3/3 top performer. Otis Powell then decided the match in the last frame, beating Rich Evans.

TALBOT BERRIEW WIN DIVISION TWO TITLE Congratulations to the Talbot Berriew team who have won the Division Two title. Last week they beat the Exchangables 10-4 when Neil Wilson 3/3 beat Rhys Bell in the 9th frame. Dave Woos-nam 2/2 also recorded 100% win rate on the night. Joining them in the Premiership next year will be The Sws, who demolished the Buck B 11-3. Well done to Graham Ottaway and his team who return to the top table after one season. Stafford Jones was the hero, beating Jamie Jones in the 11th frame to guarantee promotion. Cefn Coch B have been at the top end of the ta-ble all season but have dropped off the pace of late, but returned to winning ways, beating the Desert Rats 9-5. Rob Francis and Clive Langford both 3/3 doing most of the damage. The Kerry Lamb recorded a 10-4 victory over the Dyssil Underdogs, with An-drew Powell 3/3 clinching the match against James Bevan. 3/3 also for Mark Powell. And finally the Monty Cues had a superb 9-5 away win against the Queenshead A. Winning the first two sessions 3-2, it was left to Fraser Davies to beat Bryan Jones for the match. 3/3 for their Barry Shafe.
CEFN COCH A GIVEN PHEASANT SCARE
The Division Three title is the only title left up for grabs. The Sportsman A and Cefn Coch A have their horns locked with neither giving an inch. Last week, the Sportsman had a con-vincing 10-4 away win out at the Dolau B which has helped narrow the gap in the frames difference at the top of the league. Alec Scarborough 3/3 as early as the 10th frame, sealed both points, beating Matthew Owen. Cefn Coch A needed a last frame win over the Pheasant to keep up the pace, with Alun Wil-liams 2/3 beating Philip Davies for an 8-6 win. Richard Bennett was the only player on the night to record a 3/3. The Red Lion made light work of beating the Bowlers 12-2, with the leagues sponsor Lee Cruse 2/2 beating Marcus Andrews to make sure of the points as early as the 10th frame. The SportyBees were gifted two frames against the House of Lords after they only turned up with four players. The Bees went on to win 9-5 when their James Evison had the bye in the second session. Strangely the Lords having gifted two frames, won 3/4 in the last session of four and surely their captains job during the break will be to find another regular player. The Ballbreakers beat the Queenshead B 10-4 but the scorecard hasn`t been received in time for the Press. It was reported that Gary Jones with 3/3 including the winning frame, was the Ballbreakers star performer.

CORONAVIRUS STATEMENT Our league, like all other leagues affiliated to the Welsh Pool Association, have to postpone all fixtures until the end of April. The situation will be moni-tored and reviewed accordingly. The full WPA statement is below which we are adhering to. If you do venture to your local for a frame of pool, please lis-ten to the latest advice given, and remember, you can pick up germs from the table, as well as hand shaking. Wash your hands thoroughly and regularly. See you all soon.
WELSH POOL ASSOCIATION
16/03/2020 EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING
CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)
Dear Members,
Tonight the executive committee met to discuss the events of the last week with regard to the outbreak of Co-
rona virus ( COVID-19)
The health, safety and wellbeing of our members is our primary concern and, after careful consideration, we
have taken the unenviable decision, to cancel ALL WPA sanctioned events with immediate effect, until the
end of April. This to include.
. All affiliated local league fixtures
. All Interleague matches
.All ranking tours.
We understand there will be mixed feelings about this. However from watching the posts around the various
leagues over the last couple of days, it would seem that the consensus of opinion is ,that we look after the
health and well being of our members.
We will keep a careful eye on the proceedings that develop over the next few weeks, and will make a further
announcement at the end of April These are unprecedented times for everyone, and we trust you all support
us in our decision. It has not been made lightly but has been made with your health and safety in mind.
We as a committee hope that by following all the NHS guidelines, all of our members and their families stay
safe.
Be safe
