Update on Projects

Dear Parishioners: Our Lady of the Valley remains focused on and committed to good stewardship of our build-ings and grounds. To that end, we are reporting on in-progress and completed projects. Two (2) dehumidifiers have been installed by Mountain Valley Home Comfort and are oper-ating. The parking lot is being sealed. Painting the spaces is contingent on weather conditions. The Harrisonburg Parking Lot Striping Company will complete as weather permits. An AED (automated external defibrillator) has been purchased and will be installed next week. A qualified nurse will train ushers and any interested volunteers. We are also looking into security cameras. More on that in a few weeks. The new parish giving program will be rolled out in the next few weeks. This is online pro-gram will be a time saver for our offertory counters and be cost effective and time efficient for parish staff.

Our sincere thanks to our Parish Council, Finance Committee, and our generous parishion-ers for making these projects a reality.

God bless you,

Father Perez

Almighty and eternal God, who shaped us from the mud of the earth and breathed into us beautiful life and eternal souls made to give You glory, look graciously now upon Your poor creatures who have fallen into sin. We now cry out for mercy, though we have deserved Your wrath and the rod of Your correction and trials. Be appeased. Lift from us this present affliction of disease and its fear as once You with-drew Your destroying Angel from scourging Jerusalem after smiting Israel with the sword of plague. Look kindly on us, kneeling as if upon the threshing floor. Look into our ashen and sackcloth laden hearts which we desire never again to be hardened against the promptings of Your Spirit and forgive. Forgive the offences so many of Your ungrateful images have committed against the Hearts of our Lord and His Mother. res who have fallen into sin. We now cry out for mercy, though we have deserved Your wrath and the rod of Your correction and trials. Be appeased. Lift from us this present affliction of disease and its fear as once You withdrew Your de-stroying Angel from scourging Jerusalem after smiting Israel with the sword of plague. Look kindly on us, kneeling as if upon the threshing floor. Look into our ashen and sackcloth laden hearts which we desire never again to be hardened against the promptings of Your Spirit and forgive. Forgive the offences so many of Your ungrateful images have committed against the Hearts of our Lord and His Moth-er. Forgive the countless sacrilegious Communions of the last decades. Forgive Your priests and bishops who in great numbers have abandoned their proper place between Your people and Your altars. Some have committed unspeakable offences, not excluding even manifest idolatry.

Burbidge as presider and homilist. Musical artist will be Michelle Jaco-

been. Our special intention will be for the conversion and healing in

Donate Your Car to Catholic Charities! If you are thinking of replacing your car with something new, please

consider donating your old car to Catholic Charities. Proceeds from the

sale of working and non-working cars provide critical funds for our

volunteer programs. It's easy--we handle all the paperwork and you re-

ceive an IRS donation receipt. To donate, email [email protected] or call

(703) 841-3898.

Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinic Volunteers Needed! Please help Catholic Charities serve the poor by volunteering--on site

or remotely from home--with the Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clin-

ics. Located in Manassas and Woodbridge, the clinics provide free,

quality healthcare to low income individuals who are uninsured or un-

der-insured. Demand for clinic services has skyrocketed, and we are in

desperate need of medical and non- medical volunteers. Most of the

volunteering can be done virtually, from the safety and convenience of

home. On site opportunities exist as well. Volunteers must be willing to

make a regular, ongoing commitment. Most positions are 3-4 hour

shifts, affording great flexibility. To signup, please visit: https://

volunteer.ccda.net

OLV NEWS :

Cans for KOVAR –KOC

The Knights of Columbus are collect-

ing aluminum cans to raise money to

support our KOVAR charity. You

have seen our members in their yellow

vest handing out Tootsie Rolls and

collecting money in the past. Due to

the pandemic, we are not following

that path this year. Please help us by

donating your cans. They can be de-

posited in the trailer located near the

utility pole at the back of the parking

lot.

KOVAR is a Virginia Knights of

Columbus Charity established in

1971 to provide financial assistance

through grants and home loans to

tax-exempt organizations providing

training and assistance to citizens

with intellectual disabilities.

See www.kovarva.org for more in-

formation.
