Christmas is fast approaching!

We are making a list and checking it twice!

A list will be coming, via email, with requests for our very dear HCA Family. This is a lodge tradition and our members continue to make this very special. With the lodge not completely done, we will be doing something different this year. Santa Scotty will be dropping off his “sacks of goodies” to their residences. Alicia, Lodge Elves, and Santa Scotty thank you in advance!

WORK ON OUR LODGE HAS BEEN PROGRESSING VERY WELL. THESE PICTURES ARE A COUPLE OF WEEKS OLD. PLEASE STOP DOWN TO SEE HOW NICELY IT IS COMING AND BE SURE TO THANK THE GUYS DOING THE WORK. DECEMBER WILL SEE US IN PARTIAL OPERATION AND JANUARY SHOULD SEE US ALL THE WAY!

Did You Know? A column dedicated to keeping our Elk Family connected!

Jerry and Pat Smith spent a week in Aruba! Sun, surf, and exploration of paradise! Leona Steven’s little Regan got her first pair of glasses! Regan is thrilled! The Pharmacy Elk Squad! Michelle Purdy, a UHS Pharmacist, has joined the Elks! The Pharmacy Elk Squad includes fellow pharmacists, Sue and Gayle and Pharmacy Techs Liz and Leona! Michelle Purdy, our new member just purchased a new home! Congratulations Michelle! Jack and Connie Carle’s son invited his Dad and Doug Neiss to travel to Lake George and Lake Ontario to go fishing! (ask them about the big one that got away!) Dino Christopher traveled to Philadelphia’s Eagle stadium to watch his Dallas Cowboys. (sorry about that Dino, you showed up but the Dallas Cowboys should have stayed home.) David and Elinor Gardner’s, grandson Dylan, will be performing at the BCC theater! Dylan is studying video and production arts. Many thanks to our members who keep performing “good works” without the benefit of a physical lodge! Nancy Graver, Cheers to Hope fundraiser for American Cancer Society, Wendy Turner, Doug’s Fish Fry Fundraiser for Humane Society and Lodge Recovery, Herb Flint, Scotch Tasting for Lodge Recovery! They were solution oriented and found a way to continue making a difference. I want to share a beautiful note I received from Paula Kilgour. She writes her grandson Evan (Kilgour) who is 14, started collecting pull tabs after hearing about the JC Elks pull tab support of the amputee program. They were touched by the story of the little boy who needed a new prosthetic. Soon, the students at his school and members of St. Monica’s in Palatka, Fl, went wild collecting and presenting them to Evan! Evan, his brother Joseph and his Mom Terri (Paula’s daughter) considered this a mission of love. They presented “tons” during their last visit. Evan has since moved from Florida to Murfreesboro, Tn, He continues to collect pull tabs and will be bringing them up when they visit in June. If any member would like to encourage and acknowledge Evan’s efforts his address is: Evan Kilgour 3920 Puckett Creek Crossing Apt 3206, Murfressboro, Tn 37128. Submitted by Alicia Beck
