COMMUNITY EDUCATION The UCCIE provides recycling information and education to the community. Our Corpsmembers are knowledgeable and trained in providing information on recycling processes. We can provide materials or make a presentation onsite. ON-THE-JOB TRAINING The UCCIE offers comprehensive on- the-job trainings that give members valuable certifications to develop their skills for future employment. Our qualified crews are available 7 days a week. ABOUT THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA MOUNTAINS FOUNDATIONThe Southern California Mountains Foundation is a nonprofit organization that believes connecting communities to our public lands is the key to their survival. We mobilize individuals to inspire and engage in environmental citizenship. The Southern California Mountains Foundation has a flagship program called the Urban Conservation Corps of the Inland Empire (UCCIE).

The UCCIE provides opportunities for young people from San Bernardino and Riverside counties a chance to better their lives through education and paid work experience.

BOTTLES AND CANSThe UCCIE provides recycling collection programs that provide sustainable solutions for businesses, schools, curbside collection, office complexes, government agencies, and campgrounds generating large volumes of California Redemption Value (CRV) beverage containers (aluminum cans; plastic and glass bottles). The UCCIE also provides special event recycling collection at large-scale community events throughout Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.

E-WASTE COLLECTIONThe UCCIE provides e-waste collection and education services at no charge to our clients throughout Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. We take collections from businesses, nonprofits, households and government agencies and provide proof of destruction documentation upon request. We regularly partner with government agencies, nonprofits, and businesses to hold e-waste collection events.

USED TIRE COLLECTIONThe UCCIE partners with local government agencies to identify public lands affected by illegally dumped tires and dispatch work crews to remove them responsibly. Our crews also host tire amnesty collection events for the public throughout the year, where community members can bring their used tires.

USED OILThe UCCIE provides used motor oil recycling education to the community in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. Our crews also visit Certified Collection Centers to ensure that signs are in good condition and posted so that they are visible from the street.

The UCCIE program allows opportunity youth from San Bernardino and Indio to gain valuable professional skills by completing conservation projects within urban and mountain communities. Types of projects Corpsmembers complete include:
