Joshua Gordon College of Health and Human Development | STUDENT SPOTLIGHT How has CSUF prepared you for your future? What are some benefits you have had through being involved? Through my extracurricular activities and classes, I have furthered my skills in communication, organization, and leadership. I have also learned about working and interacting with various diverse organizations and individuals. HEALTH AND HUMAN DEVELOPMENT STUDENTS REACH HIGHER! Through being involved, I have been able to network with other students and faculty and learn about different involvements on campus as well as leadership positions. What are some tips you have for students at CSUF? Get academic advising and don’t be afraid to ask for help, mentoring, and guidance! Go to office hours as well. It is the easiest way to connect with professors and learn the material with one on one tutoring. Also professors are the most important resource for students and can connect students to opportunities that will further develop learning in the class and in my field. “A moment of pain is worth a lifetime of glory” ~Pete Zamperini What are some challenges you faced? How did you overcome them? My biggest challenges were time management and finding time for myself. To overcome them I became very organized and developed time management habits. I also designate time solely for myself, and staying well mentally, socially, and physically. Joshua Gordon is a senior majoring in Kinesiology. He aspires to become a sports chiropractor and a track and field coach. Joshua’s involvements on campus include Kappa Omicron Nu honor society, Student Athlete Advisory Committee, and Male Success Initiative Founder, all of which he has been a board member. His organizations and involvements has given him valuable leadership experience and communication skills that assist him with networking and forming groups to get schoolwork completed. As a Kinesiology major, Joshua has enjoyed helping others in order to improve life long wellness. The College of Health and Human Development has provided him with many opportunities to work with his professors and secure internships. TITAN PRIDE

What are some benefits you have had through being involved?

Through  my  extracurricular  activities  and  classes,  I  have  furthered  my  skills  in  communication,  organization,  and  leadership.    I  have  also  learned  about  working  and  interacting  with  various  diverse  organizations  and  individuals.
