This guide provides direction on how to use UC’s online portal to manage your University of Cincinnati Alternative Retirement Plan (ARP) plan. The online portal is powered behind the scenes by Fidelity Investments.

For assistance with the online portal, contact Fidelity Investments at1-800-343-0860 (M-F 8:30 a.m. – midnight, any day the stock market is open).AXA-Equitable, Fidelity, TIAA and Voya are approved providers for the ARP. Contact information for all approved providers can found on this Bearcats Landing page (https://bit.ly/uc-benefits).

The online portal is designed for use by new and current participants regardless of chosen ARP provider.

The online portal allows you to:

• Establish your ARP account including selecting your provider.

• Change your ARP Retirement Provider (AXA-Equitable, Fidelity Investments, TIAA, or Voya).

• If you choose a provider other than Fidelity, you will be able to link to other approved providers to make asset allocations and name a beneficiary(ies).

• If Fidelity is your chosen provider:

o Log in to your Fidelity account

o View Plan details

o Use interactive tools and calculators to help set financial goals

o Establish or change your beneficiary(ies).

How to change your ARP Plan Provider1. Visit www.netbenefits.com/universityofcincinnati and

enter your Username and Password at the top of the website and click Log in.

2. On the NetBenefits home page, choose Contribution Amount in the Quick Links menu for the ARP.

If you are a current Fidelity customer and already have a Username and Password, you can use them to log in to your account through the NetBenefits website. If you have forgotten your Username and/or Password, click Need Help? at the top of the website to reset your Username or Password.

New user site registrationIf you are a current Fidelity customer and have not set up your NetBenefits Username and Password previously, visit www.netbenefits.com/universityofcincinnati, click the Register link at the top of the site.

The next screen will ask for your last name, date of birth and the last 4 numbers of your SSN to find your account. Upon verifying your identity the site will guide you through the process to establish your Username and Password.

3. Select Retirement Providers and follow the steps to update your provider elections.

You may only have one Retirement Provider for your ARP account. Enter 100% for the provider you wish to use.

Please note: You cannot change your ARP contribution amount as it is established by the State of Ohio

How to change your ARP investment elections

Visit www.netbenefits.com/universityofcincinnati, enter your Username and Password at the top of the website, and click Log in.

On the NetBenefits home page, choose Change Investments in the Quick Links for the University of Cincinnati Plan in which you want to make changes.

Choose the action you wish to take.

Choose from Target Date Funds or Choose your own investments from the full menu of investment options available. You can review the funds available in the plan by clicking on View list of funds.

For future contributions, choose the investments to which you wish to direct your future contributions and click Next.

For existing balances, choose the current fund you wish to exchange from and then the new fund to which you want to move those assets.

Confirm you have reviewed the prospectus for the investments you have chosen, then review your elections and click Submit to complete your election. You will receive online confirmation upon submitting your elections..

Please note: Future Investments and Current Investments are two separate elections. Moving existing balances between investments will not change the direction for new contributions to the Plan. Likewise, changing your future contribution elections will not affect existing balances.

Review your beneficiaries. Now is a good time to review or update your beneficiary information if you’ve experienced a life event, such as marriage, divorce, the birth of a child or a death in the family.

To access beneficiary information for your Fidelity account; Log in to NetBenefits and choose Profile at the top right of the home page.

Then choose Beneficiaries and follow the step by step instructions to verify or make changes to your elections. You can also request a paper form by contacting Fidelity at 1-800-343-0860.

Refer to this section if you have an existing AXA-Equitable, TIAA or Voya ARP account with the University of Cincinnati. If you are establishing a NEW plan/account, please go to the New Hire/New Enrollee section.

How to change your ARP provider1. After registering for the site, visit

www.netbenefits.com/universityofcincinnati, enter your Username and Password at the top of the website, and click Log in as shown above.

2. On the NetBenefits® home page, choose Contribution Amounts in the Quick Links menu for the University of Cincinnati ARP Plan.

3. Select Retirement Providers.

4. After you’ve selected your Retirement Plan provider (if other than Fidelity), you must link to their website (see page 9) to change your investment allocations and update your beneficiary information.

How to change your ARP investment electionsYou will need to contact your chosen Retirement Provider directly to change your investment elections. Please see contact information below.

Links to all Retirement Provider websites are also provided in a drop down at the top left of the home page at www.netbenefits.com/universityofcincinnati.

New Hires/New Enrollees

Refer to this section if you are a NEW HIRE, NEWLY ELIGIBLE or FIRST TIME ENROLLEE.

Please read the information below carefully. You have 120 days from your hire date (appointment date) to submit your Retirement Plan Election Form to the Central HR Office.

You must submit your Retirement Plan Election Form to Central HR BEFORE you will be able to make your elections on the online portal (Fidelity NetBenefts).

The process steps are:

1. Choose your provider.

2. Complete and submit the Retirement Plan Election Form within 120 days of hire.

3. Include the name of the provider on the Form.

4. Access the online portal (Fidelity NetBenefits).

5. If you choose a provider other than Fidelity, you will link to the provider’s site from the NetBenefits platform.

a. If you’ve already set up an account with your chosen provider, you will NOT need to establish a new account.

b. If you have not established an account prior to accessing the online portal, you can do so by linking to your chosen provider.

6. Make your asset allocations and beneficiary elections on your provider’s site.

Go to www.netbenefits.com/universityofcincinnati to get started.

If you have existing accounts with Fidelity Investments you can use your current Username and Password to access your University of Cincinnati account.

If this will be your first time accessing NetBenefits click Register at the top of the screen.

Follow the prompts to establish a Username and Password.

Once registered, log in to NetBenefits and click the Enroll button for your University of Cincinnati Plan(s).

Review and submit your elections

You will receive online confirmation from the NetBenefits site upon submitting your elections.

You may only select one provider for your ARP contributions.

Choose your investments through your chosen Retirement ProviderIf you chose to direct your contributions to a Retirement Provider other than Fidelity, after submitting your enrollment elections, use the provided link to continue to the provider’s website to make your investment elections and name a beneficiary on their website.

If you chose Fidelity as your Retirement Provider, return to the Summary page of your account and choose the Investments tab and Change Investments. Next choose Change Investment Elections under the Future Investments option.

The next screen will show your current elections as 100% toward the Plan’s default fund. To choose your own investments click Change Your Investment Elections.

Choose a Target Date Fund or Choose your own investments from the full menu of investment options available through the Plan. Click the View links if you would like to review the available investment options in each category. Choose the investments to which you wish to direct your future contributions and click Next.

Confirm you have reviewed the prospectus for the investments you have chosen, then review your elections and click Submit to complete your election. You will receive online confirmation upon submitting your elections.

Designate your beneficiaries with your chosen ARP providerBeneficiary elections are maintained individually with each Retirement Provider.

For Fidelity choose Profile at the top right of the NetBenefits home page and then Beneficiaries. Or, call 1-800-343-0860 Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to midnight ET for a form to complete and return.

AXA-Equitable accounts: call 513-762-7750 from 7:30 to 4:30 or access your account online at equitable.com/login.
