Farm talk meetingsThe Illinois Farm Bureau has scheduled regional
farm talk meetings this summer. Please mark your cal-endars to attend the meeting in Macomb on Monday,August 24th at 11 a.m. at the VFW Hall, 1200 EastJackson. Illinois Farm Bureau President, Phillip Nelsonwill offer updates on major issues and IFB’s activitiesto address these issues. This is also a great opportunityto hear what’s on your mind! Four youth fromMcDonough Countyhave been named recipi-ents of the 2009McDonough CountyFarm Bureau®Foundation Scholarship.Each of the recipientswill receive $500 to beapplied toward the costof continuing their edu-cation in agriculture.
During the past sever-
al years, the countyFarm Bureau Foundationhas provided assistancein scholarships to localindividuals. The primaryfocus of the not-for-prof-it Foundation is to pro-mote agricultural educa-tion. The Foundation issupported by individualcontributions, includingthose from McDonoughCounty Farm Bureau
members. Kari Kelso, the daugh-
ter of Clarke andDeborah Kelso, is a 2008graduate of MacombSenior High School. Sheis currently attendingOklahoma StateUniversity majoring inAnimal Science.
Jordan Tate, the son ofDennis and Beverly Tate,is a 2006 graduate of
West Prairie HighSchool. He is currentlyattending the Universityof Illinois- Urbana/Champaign and major-ing in AgricultureEngineering.
Austin Tate, the son ofDennis and Beverly Tateis a 2008 graduate ofWest Prairie HighSchool. He plans toattend Ranken Technical
College to study carpen-try and building con-struction technology.
Wyatt McGrew, theson of William andMarcia McGrew is a 2007graduate of Bushnell-Prairie City High School.He is currently attendingWestern IllinoisUniversity majoring inAgriculture educationwith a minor in busi-
