COWTOWN CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SHOOT
JULY 8TH
, 2012
On Sunday, July 8th
, 2012 Cowtown Bowmen will be hosting our club championship
shoot. All members and anyone else are invited to come out and shoot this shoot. The attached
list are the members that will be competing against each other for club champion this year.
They are not in any order.
This is a California start from 8- 11 and cards have to be turned in by 3:30.
We will be setting up Sat morning so come out and lend a hand in setting up the course.

Work party to set up shoot is scheduled for Saturday, July 7th
, 2012, so please come on
out and lend a hand setting up the course and remember, if you have set up and tore down a
shoot, or set up twice or tore down twice, you are eligible to received an exclusive Cowtown
Bowmen Worker Bee hat. Make sure to let a Club Officer know if you have a hat coming and
we will be sure you get one.
TEXAS RECURVE CHAMPIONSHIP SHOOT

th & July 1
st, 2012, Cowtown Bowmen hosted the Annual
Texas Recurve Championship Shoot. Much thanks to all of the members
who came together to make this event possible and all of the volunteers
who put their time and effort into making Cowtown once again a shining
beacon of Archery in the Metroplex.

MEETING ALERT !!!! July 16
th, 2012 – 7PM, Club Meeting at Spring
Creek BBQ on Hwy 191 in Lake Worth Nominations for Club Officers will take place so please
attend if you would be interested in filling one of our open Club
Officer positions. This is the meeting when all nomination will
be placed so that Club Elections will be held at our August
Meeting.
REMINDER ABOUT ITEMS NOT ALLOWED
ON THE CLUB PROPERTY!!!! It has been brought to the club’s attention that some of the 3D targets
on the 3D practice range show signs of being shot with broadheads. This is
just a reminder to make sure everyone knows that Broadheads, as well as
alcohol and firearms are not permitted on the property. This is in the Club
Rules and violation of these rules can result in suspension or termination of
membership. These rules have to do with our conditions of the lease with
the city and our insurance carriers, so please work with us to ensure that
everyone understands the reason for the rules and why we must all adhere to
them. If we were to have an incident, it is very likely we would lose our
insurance, lease or both.

3D PRACTICE RANGE IS ON THE MOVE !!!!
Work Party Scheduled for July 28th
, 2012
On July 28th
, 2012, we will be having a work party to move the 3D
practice range to a new location on the edge of the woods [see map below]. At
the club meeting on June 18th
, the club discussed this and other options for the
3D practice range as a number of members requested it be moved to a place
with more shade. After looking at all of our options and a good discussion on
the various options, a motion was made to move it to the below proposed
location.
We are confident we will be able to have 8-10 lanes facing into the woods,
and will be sure to have the targets set in a manner that any arrant arrows can be
located without having to get into the thick stuff. Once completed, this will be
the permanent location for the 3D practice range so we will need volunteers to
help maintain the lanes and necessary mowing to ensure that all members can
access and enjoy this course. Due to the direction of shooting, during all
tournaments, the 3D practice range will need to be closed to ensure the safety of
all officers, but will re-open as soon as the shoot is over and broke down.
We look forward to seeing as many who can offer the time and energy to
set this 3D practice course up on July 28th
.
