CHURCH SUPPORT

Sunday, July 18/19th $12,661.00

Your continued generosity supports all the worship, formation, evangelization, and service ministries of the parish. Thank you!

ALL PARISH ACTIVITIES

ARE CANCELLED

WEEKLY ENVELOPES If you are “making up” for missed weeks or months in the weekend collection, you do not need to give us all the envelopes for the miss-ing time periods. You can simply write one check and enclose it in ONE envelope and either place it in the boxes located at the en-trances of the church or mail/drop off at the Parish Office. If you would also like to contribute to the second or special collections you may also enclose a check in the specific envelope for that collection.

From the Desk of Fr. Lagiovane

Special Collection- June 27th Our Special 2nd Collection on the weekend of June 27th totaled over $24,500 dollars. Thank you to all of you who were able to contribute to this special collection to help us make up for lost revenues these last several months.

Thank you for your continued support of our parish week in and week out. We cannot do it without you. May God bless your generosity and kindness. Slowly & Safely Opening up our Church We have begun to open up our Church slowly and safely. We are now permitted to have 50% capacity for each of our Masses.

Daily Mass will continue to be held in the Church until late August. I will keep you posted as to when we will begin Mass in the Chapel.

Thank you for your cooperation on the wearing of masks and proper distancing along with your cooperation on our new procedure for the distribution of Holy Communion.

We will begin to assign some of our liturgical ministers at the end of August as well as permitting our extraor-dinary ministers to bring Holy Communion to our homebound. Our nursing home ministry will begin again sometime in the Fall. Ongoing Spiritual Seminars At the end of the summer we will post several spiritual seminars for our parishioners. Days and times will vary so we can meet the needs of as many parishioners as possible. Many of the topics that will be offered will come from the surveys that our parishioners filled out several months ago. 175th Anniversary Mass with Cardinal Dolan Stay tuned for a confirmation of the date for our 175th Anniversary Mass with Cardinal Dolan. I have reached out to the Cardinal’s Office to confirm the date. The date is tentatively set for Sept. 27 at our 12 Noon Mass. A light reception will be held after the Mass.

THE RELIGIOUS EDUCATION OFFICE Close for vacation July 17th until Aug. 16th.

It will reopen on August 17th

WE WOULD KINDLY ASK THAT YOU MAIN-TAIN SAFE DISTANCING AND WEAR A PRO-TECTIVE FACE COVERING ( unless you cannot for health reasons) WHEN COMING INTO THE PARISH OFFICE, RELIGIOUS EDUCATION OF-FICE, CHURCH & PARISH CENTER

MEMORIAL MASSES

Ordinarily, memorial masses are not permitted at St. Joseph’s. However, because of the recent suspen-sion of church services, St. Joseph will now allow families to schedule a memorial mass for those who died between March 14 and June 8, 2020 and could not be afforded the benefit of a funeral mass.

Please be advised of the following procedures: Masses may be scheduled 2 weeks in advance. The family must contact the parish office during regular business hours to confirm a date.

Due to Archdiocesan guidelines, family participa-tion will be limited. Offertory processions, lectors and eulogies will not be permitted.

Families may select scripture readings and appropri-ate music selections as outlined in the parish funeral planner which is available on the parish website or from the funeral home.

Since the memorial mass will be conducted in the same solemn manner as a funeral mass, an organist and cantor will be required.

The fees listed below should be remitted to the par-ish office 3 days prior to the mass. Church Offering - $350 Organist - $250 Cantor - $175
