Fossils and prehistoric creatures will be the topic of this week. Students will explore pre- historic times to expand their knowledge of dinosaurs. The week will culminate with a dino dig . P2 Earth without Art is just “Eh” Our beautiful earth without "art" really would be "eh"! Every student will use a variety of art mediums creating projects they will be proud to display. They will also get to know style of many art- ists and decide on their favorites! Please wear paint-friendly clothes. Week 9: July 25 - July 29 P1 & P2 Commotion in the Ocean Students will explore the earth’s oceans and discover why they are blue and salty and how the oceans’ motions, like tides, currents, and waves, influ- ence life on planet earth. They will meet many of the living creatures of the ocean, both real and imaginary, and travel with ocean explorers. Week 10: August 1 - 5 P1 A Picture Paints a Thousand Words Does your child have an inner Picasso, Kahlo, Matisse or Dali? This week campers will express their creativ- ity, design a master piece to take home. An enjoyable fun filled week of painting, drawing, collaging and more. P2 Do you Hear what I Hear? What instruments do you "hear" listen- ing to an orchestra? Marching band? A mariachi or jazz band? Students will be introduced to a variety of instru- ments, their sounds & the music they create. Week 8: July 18- July 22

P1 Jurassic Park

Week 6: July 4 - 8

P1 Something Wonderful has Sprouted! Time to use your green thumbs and get dirty! Students will explore various plants and learn about their life cycles, parts, and how to care for them! A campus beautification week for sure!

P2 Woodlands / Grasslands & Habitats Who prowls in the woods and tall grasses? We do, along with bobcats, black widow spiders, hawks and c o p p e r h e a d snakes. Students will learn about the behaviors that make them all skillful. We will culminate the week with a field trip to River Legacy Science Center.

Week 7: July 11 - 15

P1 What’s Bugging you?

Students will be feeling “antsy” as they explore bugs & slugs. Snails & earthworms are waiting to “crawl” into our classrooms and fascinate us all! Children will explore the life cycle of winged butterflies and learn about spiders and other creepy crawlers!

Week 3: June 13 - 17

P1 Loving the Outdoors! Camping, arts and crafts. Indoor campfire, and making s’mores. National Parks, [Grand Canyon, Big Bend, etc.] Camp food [weenies and beans].

P2 Feast your Eyes on This! Young chefs will enjoy mix and stir their way to heaping helpings of learning skills and reading fun. They will explore the food groups as they prepare healthy foods/snacks related to popular themes and literature. Students will also follow step-by-step recipes, observe safe cooking habits, use cooking utensils appropriately and learn to measure.

Week 4: June 20 - 24 P-1 & P-2 Amphibians—Frogs and Toads

Through immersion in literature and fun activities including poetry, songs, science, math, social studies

and arts and crafts, the children will gain a better understanding of frogs & toads. Students will ex-plore their habitats, diet and life cycles. How many ways can you make a

frog? Our students will certainly find out!

Week 5: June 27 - July 1 P-1 & P-2 To Infinity and Beyond! This week will be an adventure as we travel through

the universe exploring some of the Solar System. Students will blast off to explore the sky above, the sun, moon, and stars. They will explore through

songs, finger plays and movement activities, arts & crafts.

Week 1: May 31 - June 3

P1 In a Garden of Friends, happiness grows. We will focus on the meaning of friendship with stories, role playing and peaceful conflict resolution lessons and interactive activities. What are random acts of kindness? The week will conclude with a friendship ice-cream sundae bar.

P2 The Very Hungry Author A stimulating and lasting experience will be had as

students dive into many of Eric Carle’s brilliantly illustrated and innovatively designed books for children!

Week 2: June 6 - 10

P1 African Safari Students will enjoy taking a safari to the jungles of Africa to explore the different animals that live there. They will even turn the classroom into a rainforest.

P2 Rocks & Minerals

Get ready to rock your world! Students will learn about the different types of rocks observing a variety of sizes, shapes and colors of rocks that make up the earth's crust.

They will have a blast erupting and making soda volcanoes. They will collect rocks from our natural play space and paint them in various colors.
