PASTORS COLUMN
Dear Parish Family, members, attendees, guest and seekers, The Lord be with you! In TWO WEEKS we will be celebrating our Fifth Annual Christmas in July. WHY? BECAUSE: Christmas celebrates the radical re-ordering of our relationship with God through His Son Jesus. Christmas in July is a "speed bump". Christmas in July is a reminder telling us NOT TO FORGET, God's incredible intervention in human history. We can get so busy, not just at Christmas time but even now in these hot summer months, that we might be "tempted" to take a vacation from God, to take a vacation from church, to take a vacation from prayer, to take a vacation from being Trinity Centered & Discipleship Driven. WE CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS IN JULY AT SAINT CLEMENT'S AS A REMINDER THAT JESUS IS THE REASON FOR ALL SEASONS: WINTER, SPRING, SUMMER AND FALL. So let's get ready! In 2 weeks let us wear our Christmas clothes to Church, set out our Manger Scene, and wish everyone: MERRY CHRISTMAS IN JULY!!!! On the last day of classes in the Seminary, before our summer vacation began, we would always get the same lecture: "Gentleman remember, there is no VACATION from your VO-CATION." That is an important lesson I had to learn. Life in the Seminary was VERY struc-tured. There were SET TIMES for: Morning & Evening Pray, Daily Mass, Our 3 meals and of course our Classes. At home we didn't have that same kind of structure. I found it hard at first to develop a healthy SUMMER ROUTINE, that kept me focused on my Vocation. It was tempting, to take a Vacation from my Vocation.
School is FINALLY OVER! So I want to pass on to you, the SAME WISDOM that was given to me before our summer break from the Seminary: "REMEMBER THERE IS NO VACATION FROM YOUR VOCATION." Church, we are meant to be Trinity Centered & Discipleship Driv-en: 24/7.
Are you planning a trip over a weekend? Be sure to include Sunday Eucharist in your plan-ning. Here is a great Website to find a Church where you will be Vacationing:
www.MassTimes.org. When visiting family & friends you might not have a car. That can be a dilemma, especially if your relatives or friends, no longer go to Church. Why not let them know well in advance that you would like to be able to go to Sunday Eucharist and see if they could find you trans-portation? Who knows they might just go along with you!!!! When you are away from Saint Clement please bring back a BULLETIN from the Church or Churches you have visited. Some of the fondest memories I have of my families vacations, are finding a Church on a Sunday and ALL 9 of us cramming into a pew. I was amazed that there were Catho-lics everywhere, in whatever state we visited. I learned at an early age just how UNIVERSAL was our faith. I don't think I would have learned that lesson, if my parents had taken a Vaca-tion from their Vocation. Maranatha,

COLUMNA DEL PÁRROCO Queridos Feligreses y Visitantes, ¡El Señor esté con Vosotros! En DOS SEMANAS estaremos celebrando nuestra Quinta Navidad Anual en Julio. ¿POR QUÉ? PORQUE la Navidad celebra una renovación radical de nuestra relación con Dios por medio de Su Hijo Jesús. La Navidad en julio es una señal de parar. La Navidad en julio es un recordatorio que nos dice NO OLVIDEN la increíble intervención de Dios en la historia hu-mana. Podemos estar tan ocupados, no solo en el tiempo de Navidad sino también en estos me-ses calurosos del verano, que podemos estar tentados a tomar vacaciones sin Dios, a tomar vacaciones sin la iglesia, a tomar vacaciones sin oración, a tomar vacaciones sin estar cen-trados en la Trinidad y conducidos por el Discipulado. EN SAN CLEMENTE CELEBRAMOS LA NAVIDAD EN JULIO COMO UN RECORDATORIO DE QUE JESUS ES LA RAZON DE TODAS LAS ESTACIONES: INVIERNO, PRIMAVERA, VERANO Y OTOÑO. ¡Así que estemos listos! En dos semanas pongámonos nuestra ropa de Navidad para ir a la Iglesia, pongamos nuestro Nacimiento y deseemos a todo el mundo: ¡FELIZ NA-VIDAD EN JULIO!
El ultimo día de clases en el Seminario, antes del comienzo de las vacaciones del verano, recibíamos siempre la misma recomendación: “Caballeros, recuerden, no existen VACA-CIONES para su VOCACIÓN.” Esta es una lección importante que tuve que aprender. La vida en el Seminario era MUY estricta. Había que CUMPLIR un HORARIO: Oración por la mañana y tarde, Misa diaria, nuestras tres comidas y por supuesto nuestras clases. En la casa no tuvimos esa clase de disciplina. Encontré muy difícil al principio desarrollar una RUTINA DE VERANO saludable que me mantuviera enfocado en mi vocación. Era muy ten-tador tomar vacaciones de mi Vocación. ¡La escuela ha TERMINADO FINALMENTE! Y quiero transmitirles a Ustedes la MISMA SABI-DURIA que me dieron a mi antes de nuestro descanso de verano del Seminario: “RECUERDEN, NO EXISTEN VACACIONES PARA SU VOCACIÓN.”. Iglesia, estamos predesti-nados a estar Centrados en la Trinidad y Conducidos por el Discipulado: 24/7.

Alguno de los afectuosos recuerdos que tengo de vacaciones con mi familia era encontrar una Iglesia, un domingo, en la que pudiéramos apiñarnos los NUEVE en un banco. Me sor-prendía ver a católicos en todas partes, en cualquier estado que visitáramos. Aprendí de muy joven lo UNIVERSAL que era nuestra fe. Creo que no habría aprendido esa lección, si mis padres hubieran tomado vacaciones de su Vocación.

Our baptism preparation process isn’t meant to complicate your life or make you jump through hoops to have your Child baptized. Instead, our process is in place to prepare you for one of the greatest adventures and responsibly that you will have as a Parent. For our Booklet: “Preparing for your child’s Bap-
tism” please pick up at the Welcome Center or Parish Office. Prior to attending the Baptism Class, you will need a Personal Interview with
the Deacon or Priest and bring in needed documents. Please call or visit the Parish office to make your appointment at (813) 752-8251.
