Thank you to everyone who is helping reach 500,000 children and youth with God’s Word in Nepal this year!

Until 2006, Nepal called itself a “Hindu Kingdom,” and still more than 80% of the population follows Hinduism.

But many children and youth are now walking with Jesus, because of the Scripture resources you’ve sent to them!

Nepalese believers ask you to pray for:

Good response to the new “segmented” version of The GodMan film for use in Sunday school and club meetings. Children will watch a short segment of the film and discuss — we expect this will help keep children coming to Sunday school and Hope Clubs, while also promoting a deeper understanding of the life of Christ and the Gospel.

Openness to Gospel presentations. Some Hindu families are not open to their children investigating the Gospel, so please pray for the Holy Spirit to overcome those barriers.

Peace and a better economy. Political conflict has rocked the nation, and there are many homeless and refugees — there’s also an entrenched tradition of child labor. Thank you for praying for God to help us further impact the nation of Nepal.

We introduced you to the Sahel. We asked you to bring hope to the children there.

And what a difference you’ve made!

The Sahel region of Africa is the broad horizontal band across the map of the continent from the horn of Africa to the western coast, an area where Islam is moving down from the North and Christianity moving up from the South.

While sharing the Gospel here can be dangerous and difficult, it is happening, because friends like you helped to send our Scripture engagement tools to reach the next generation.

Because of high illiteracy rates among the population, our partners have focused on using The

GodMan film and God’s Big Story, the series of illustrated cards that introduce the major themes of the Bible. These are perfect tools for societies with an oral tradition!

Teams from many local churches are taking the Word into

villages and towns that have previously had very little or no exposure to Christianity at all, and they are seeing tremendous results.

In one city, the high school director arranged

for The GodMan to be shown to every student, in three different showings. About 6,000 people in the area saw the film — and young people chose to follow Jesus!

Thank you for the prayers and generosity that have made this outreach in the Sahel possible. Please continue to pray.

Teams are seeing

tremendous results!

New life — and a miracle

Mikaili’s hand was miraculously healed after an accident.

Her hand was mangled — the doctors said it would have to be amputated.

This was the moment of truth for Mikaili. She had chosen to follow Jesus at the Kids’ Club where she received the illustrated story cards of God’s Big Story. But she had never told her parents.

Hers was a very influential Muslim family in her hometown, in a traditionally Muslim nation. She knew her mom and dad wouldn’t let her go to church or pray to Jesus. Maybe they would even disown her.

Now her hand had been crushed in a terrible accident. Should she let the doctors

amputate … or should she ask her father to send for her Kids’ Club leader and ask him to pray for her? She knew what she had to do.

She told her father the whole story, and pleaded with him to allow her club leader to pray for

her. He finally gave his permission. The club leader prayed. And God miraculously healed Mikaili’s injured hand!

She was praising Jesus for His healing

touch, and her father couldn’t deny what he had seen. He decided to let Mikaili continue following Jesus, and now she is praying her family will soon come to faith in Him, too.

Thank you for being a part of Mikaili’s miracle story!

Her father couldn’t deny what he had

seen ...

Pray for summer outreaches660,000 young people to be reached in China aloneChina prayer needsOur new Stories of Hope

program is ready to launch in China, and Sunday school teachers and ministry leaders are excited about it!

The book has been tailor-made for Chinese young people, with five key issues addressed throughout the text, color-coded to the specific need.

Chinese Christians say it is just what they have been longing for! They thank you … and ask you to pray for:

The Olympic initiative, and that hearts will be open.

A great response to Stories of Hope.

The sons and daughters of Chinese Christians to choose Christ for themselves. (Many young people whose parents attend church or follow Jesus have not yet made this commitment themselves).

Continued favor for books to be printed.

You can help present the Gospel to hundreds of thousands of young people this summer!

Our global partners are planning several exciting summer initiatives, including an Olympics-themed initiative in China.

Chinese young people are receiving God’s Word in an Olympics initiative this summer! China!

Four years ago, Beijing hosted the Olympics, and this has generated a lot of enthusiasm for the games. Chinese young people are eagerly looking forward to the opening of the 2012 summer games in London on July 27.

And our church partners will be ready with special events and the special-edition Olympic Champions Book of Hope. This book features the stories of Christian athletes and has also been redesigned to speak to the heart-felt needs of China’s next generation.

We believe we can touch the lives of 660,000 Chinese young people with God’s Word this summer!

Philippines!Another exciting outreach to be launched this

summer: Be the One, in the Philippines. This program, that will include several entertaining live events and distributions of the Book of Hope, is slated to reach 200,000 children and youth, beginning in July. Target areas are metro Manila and Tarlac, as well as the Pampanga provinces north of Manila.

For the seventh year in a row, the believers of Taiwan are sending a team of teenage volunteers to share the Gospel in the Philippines. They’ll be the ones taking the Be the One program to Pampanga. What a great show of unity!

Mozambique! Our partners in Mozambique have big plans,

too — for a conference on child and youth evangelism, which OneHope is helping sponsor, July 26 and 27. Youth for Christ and Samaritan’s Purse will also be part of the conference.

We expect hundreds of pastors, church leaders and volunteers to gather and learn how to present The GodMan film, God’s Big Story and other Scripture engagement resources to help bring children and youth to Jesus.

Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Mozambique as they prepare to bring the hope of Christ to the next generation, and please pray for summer outreaches to the next generation, too.

Be the One is the new outreach launching this summer to bring hope to the children and youth of the Philippines.

You’ve been a blessing to the next generation through your partnership with OneHope.

Now there’s a way that partnership can continue, even after you go home to be with the Lord, and be a benefit to you, starting here and now.

A charitable gift annuity allows you to make a significant contribution to OneHope, to help present the Gospel to the children of the world … and to receive a lifetime income from the interest of that gift.

The chart shows the kind of interest rate you might expect, based on your age when you make the donation. You can also arrange the annuity to continue paying your surviving spouse, for their lifetime.

Your annuity will begin immediately to help present the Gospel to children and youth around the world — and when you go home to be with Jesus, the annuity will be completely invested in reaching children and youth with God’s Word, part of your Christian legacy.

You’ll receive a charitable giving tax deduction for your gift, plus regular payments for the rest of your life.

And you’ll have the joy of knowing you’re making an eternal difference!

I thank God for OneHope partners, because you’re global-minded, compassionate, prayerful and generous — and God blesses your faithfulness. Just consider what’s happening through OneHope around the world right now:

Sensitive Areas: in a traditionally Muslim region, teams report a great welcome to the Good News! In three days, they were allowed to show The GodMan film seven times — four of those showings were in schools — for the first time, school directors interrupted classes to have children and youth watch the film! Dozens of young people chose to follow Jesus!

India: When we conducted our Spiritual State of the World’s Children research here, we discovered that 12% of respondents to our survey reported suicidal thoughts sometime in the three months prior to the survey, and 11% had drunk enough to be legally drunk. Our partners in India are motivated to bring hope to the next generation! This year, their goal is to present the Gospel to 24,030,000 children and youth. And by God’s grace, they’re already well on their way! Please continue to pray for India.

Tanzania: The Assemblies of God Church Network in Tanzania is using The GodMan film as a church-planting tool! They train Christian leaders in how to use the film to lead children to Jesus, then launch the new church which attracts parents and family to come as well. The program has done well except during the rainy season from March through May when some of the projectors malfunctioned because of the dampness. Please keep this program, and Tanzania’s children, in your prayers.

USA: We’re excited to announce the audio Book of Hope for sight-impaired children! Many sight-impaired children today are mainstreamed in school and don’t learn Braille; they rely on audio books. This new Book of Hope is a dramatized story with the extra non-Scripture portions written by Marshall Younger, an Adventures in Odyssey writer. This will be a tremendous resource for sight-impaired children in the United States and other English-speaking areas.

Thank you for being a part of all this, and all the rest you’ll read here in this Global Report. As you praise God for what He’s doing, please remember to consider a gift for our summer outreaches — by His grace we’re still able to reach three children and youth with the Gospel through each dollar given. May God reward you for your faithfulness!

Redeemed and reunitedRamith felt all alone.

His mother had left his dad when Ramith was just one year old — she took Ramith with her, but left behind his older brother and sister.

Life is difficult in India for a single mom, and Ramith keenly felt the absence of his father and siblings as he began to grow up …

The loneliness and pain turned into aggression — he started fighting with other children, lashing out with curse words when he felt under pressure, and even getting drunk to try to ease the pain in his heart and mind.

But then someone invited him to a Hope Club, a church club where he received the Book of Hope, and saw the Indian version of The GodMan film.

The Gospel message drew Ramith to Jesus …

“I felt I was a sinner, but I believed in Jesus, so I prayed to Him

to forgive all my sins,” Ramith says. The Lord touched his heart and helped him give up alcohol, fighting and cursing.

“Day-by-day my life is changing. I feel very happy now. Through the Hope Club I know that Jesus is a peace giver and healer.”

One thing still bothered Ramith. He would have liked to have his

brother and sister in his life. So he began to pray that somehow they could meet.

“What a miracle!” Ramith says. “Someone gave me the cell phone number of

my brother. I was so happy. I called him, and within a few days, he and my sister came to meet me. Yes, Jesus answered my prayer almost immediately. I thank Jesus for everything.”

Thank you for helping bring hope to Ramith and his family. By sending God’s Word, you’re helping to transform India’s next generation!

What a miracle!

Ramith came to know Jesus at a Hope Club.
