SOOOOOO, last month, I bought this All Electric Utilty Vehicle called a HuntVe from an auto dealer in the Midland/

Odessa Texas Auto Guide maga-zine. I was super pumped to buy it and it’s been great so far.

HuntVe is made in Ft Worth and uses Club Car parts to assemble a Utility Vehicle similar to a golf cart but with WAY more stuff. Here are some of the things my HunteVe has that you wouldn’t NORMALLY find on a golf cart:

The one thing I wished they left was the scorecard holder on the steering wheel so I could take it to the golf course. Ha!

I had no idea what I was buying until I got home and started doing some research. I found out that there are many com-panies that build electric cart style vehicles including Bad Boy Buggies (which I’d heard of), Stealth 4x4 and Ruff N Tuff. After more research I found out that Polaris has an all electric Ranger

side by side.

I was a little disappointed in the battery life on a single charge but found out that the batter-ies were completely dry when I bought it and with fresh batter-ies, I should be able to drive up to 20 miles on a single charge in my 2008 HuntVe. Not bad. The 2011 Ranger EV and the 2011 HuntVe Dream Season get 35 miles to a charge and can go over 30 mph. It’s really amazing to see that a vehicle that weighs 1400lbs can go 35 miles on a set of batteries.

We’ve used the HuntVe quite a bit at vineyard and with the fold down bed, it’s hauled dirt, PVC pipe, a sprayer and various other vinyeard supplies. At the lake, we used it as a go-to vehi-cle from the travel trailer to the lake shore down at White River Lake, hauling people, flotation devices and fishing gear. At the ranch, it’s been used to sneek up on deer and for just getting around. It’s been a great buy!

At a party this past week, I proposed the idea to my guy friends last night that we need to customize my 3 wheeler now to match the HuntVe.

Yep, I have an 80’s model EZGO three wheeled golf cart that is barely making it in this world. It was a hand-me-down from my parents. It’s been pretty handy, especially out in the vineyard but has some issues. It really needs a rebuilt motor, new bat-tery cables and wiring, front and rear shocks and a few other things.

So, how do you put a lift kit on a 3 wheeled golf cart and make it semi-safe? Well, that’s what I think I’m going to tackle this summer.
