• Moving beyond identifying and describing individual
landslides. • Statistical studies and those that seek linkage to
environmental forcing mechanism and tsunami modeling require consistent and comparable inputs.
• Our work is expensive, so we need to extract full value from it.
• Many (IGCP – developing) nations lack the resources to investigate offshore geohazards or have access to the basic information needed to basic research on landslide features within their own EEZs.
