We have all heard the mantra ldquoTee it Forwardrdquo This
phrase is more than likely associated with the beginning golfer
and therefore the experienced player never thinks of how this
simple idea can improve their game Collegiate teams and sea-
soned teachers have been utilizing the forward tees to improve
the game of their students many of whom are top players in the
country Using the forward tees when practicing at your home
course can not only mentally prepare a player to ldquogo lowrdquo but it
can also provide a fresh fun look to a golf course that may be
routine at this point How many of you reading this barely even
look at the yardage markers on your home course anymore A
course that has five sets of tees has five different course options
why not utilize them all
The saying ldquogolf is 90 mental and the other 10 is mentalrdquo is
not false A playerrsquos mental approach to golf is often the defining
characteristic of their overall game Lower your scores by improv-
ing your mental game itrsquos as simple as that By playing the for-
ward tees every hole will offer the chance at a birdie You can say
goodbye to playing defensively as a more aggressive approach
will slowly creep into your game
Top 100 teacher Mitchell Spearman is an advocate for this style
of practice and feels that it can drastically improve scores When
describing this practice routine Spearman said that it will help to
ldquomotivate you and increase your confidencehelliprdquo and isnrsquot this is
what wersquore all looking to achieve The video below is from Mitch-
ell Spearmanrsquos ldquoPlay like a Prordquo series In this particular video he
will be describing what exactly a player can get out of this drill
