General Manager’s Message Summer is well under way and the beaches, area restaurants and the roadways are definitely busy. The same thing is true for the Surf Club. The golf course and swimming pool are getting great usage and we encourage our members to make sure to make those golf reservations with the golf shop to ensure a wonderful experience here at the Surf. When using the swimming pool after hours, please make sure to lock the locker rooms behind you and to also lock the outside gate entrance. We provide towels for your use while here at the Surf and ask you to please leave them behind to allow for laundering of those items. We provide food service from 11:30 am until 3:30 pm for those members who wish to lunch by the pool. Please notify either of our two Jim’s and they will be happy to provide you with a quick reliable service. Along with the pool towels, we are also providing our own towel service for the golf cart area. Please remember to return those towels that may have inadvertently been placed in your trunk, so that we can launder those dirty towels and provide fresh clean towels during your next round of golf. We appreciate your help in maintaining our inventory of these items. Membership numbers are definitely on the upswing here at The Surf Club. Total membership has recently gone over 620 and we are receiving significant inquiries for both family and individual memberships. Please check posting for all new members and when seeing them, welcome them to the Best Club on the Grand Strand, The Surf Club! See you around the Club! Ladies Golf Association News from Carol Hodrick, President

WOW…where is the time going? I feel like I just completed a newsletter and it’s time to compose another. I hope everyone had a safe and happy Memorial Day which is unofficially the start of the summer season. The Ladies Golf Association concluded the 2nd day of our 2 day Member Guest on May 1st and started Interclub play on May 4th. But bad weather, Men’s Member/Guest, and course maintenance narrowed our regular Thursday league play down to 1 day for the whole month. Sigh!

I would like to welcome Debbie Burk to the Ladies Golf Association. Debbie is our newest member and brings our membership up to 71. We have a membership exclusive tournament coming up in June. If you are interested in joining our group, you can join anytime. There are applications on the bulletin board in the ladies locker room and in the Thursday sign in book on the counter in the Golf Shop.

The 2 day Member/Guest was super! Kudos to Nancy Pennington and Jane Serues, tournament co-chairs for their incite and hard work in putting the tournament together, to the Golf Shop for their hard work with registering, scoring, certificates etc. To Kristine for working with the co-chairs in the selection and preparation of the tee gifts, to the Greens Superintendent and his crew for the condition of the golf course and being kind with the pin place-ments, to the Bag Guys for getting everyone loaded and in the correct place, to the Food and Beverage Staff for the outstanding job with all the meals and service during the 2 day event, and of course, Mother Nature for giving us 2 days of absolutely glorious weather. The winners for the 2 day event were:

FIRST FLIGHT(3 way tie) THIRD FLIGHT Eloise Carter and Angie Garvin - 58 Megan Collins and Kathy Bavely - 52 Anne Webster and Sarah Brooks - 58 Eileen Greer and Donna Kozlowski - 59 Jane Cole and Lucy Roselle - 58 SECOND FLIGHT FOURTH FLIGHT Becky Rouse and Kim Smith – 57 Be y Mitchell and Candace Spataro - 59 Margaret Hinson and Phyllis Hurley – 58 Pat Harding and Holly Nalwasky - 62
