Summer Reading Begins!
The excitement of the Summer Reading Program is set to begin Monday, June
5th at 1 pm. That’s when the Library will host it’s annual SRP Kick-Off Party!
This year’s SRP theme is ‘Build a Better World’, and we will feature a wide
range of activities to get you brainstorming, creating, solving, learning and
building. These fun activities, as well as treats and SRP materials, will be
available during the event. Our Kick-Off Party this year is co-sponsored by the
Vermillion Optimists Club.
Did you know that children consistently score higher in reading and math when they participate in summer reading programs? Use the summer season to
bolster your child’s brain development, while having tons of fun – for FREE! Families are invited to join the Read-to-Me program, while youth can register
for the regular program. Adults are welcome to participate in the adult
reading program, as well. All of this summer’s programs have prizes available.
Registration for the Summer Reading Program can be found at our website,
vermillionpubliclibrary.org, under the ‘Summer Reading Program’ tab.
