The "Quilt Sisters" program is designed to pair experienced guild members with new members to help make them feel welcome: answer any questions about guild activities and quilting in general. This program is available to any new member
who chooses to take advantage of the program but it is not a requirement to become a member.
Sharon Morkal will head up this program.
Show us what you do or learn something new!
Bring something for show and tell,
attend workshops, or donate a quilt and be en-
tered into a drawing for a free membership.

WORKSHOP INFORMATION From Evie Fell
Workshops/open sews will be held on the Saturday after the KPQG monthly meeting. Anyone is welcome to come. You may bring something to work on and you may participate in the monthly pro-ject. There is a $5 fee for workshop par-ticipation. Workshops are held at Indiana Wesleyan on Markland Avenue from 10am to 3 pm. In June, our next Open Sew Saturday held June 29, we will have three types of embroidery. Janet Speicher will teach Brazilian embroidery. Terri Pearce has vol-unteered to demonstrate and provide a trunk show of machine embroidery. (It’s an opportunity to view without pressure buy). We will also have hand embroidery. Mark your calendar and plan to enjoy be-longing to a community to great quilters. Our July workshop, in celebration of In-dependence month, our very own Ms. In-dependent, Cindy Hicok, will lead us to explore Independent Nines. She will demonstrate how the basic nine block can grow, regroup, expand, shrink, and be more than any one pattern ever gave you. So bring your potential patriotic fabric scraps and enjoy lighting your creative fireworks.
Items for the newsletter need to be sent to
Lana Kirtley ([email protected])
by the second Wednesday of the month.
Row by Row begins June 21 at participating quilt stores and the theme is “Taste the Experi-ence.”
May’s meeting had 49 members present. Bad weather was a factor in the low attendance. We now have 98 paid members.
This Month’s Guest— Laura Welklin
Laura comes to us from Noblesville. She enjoys doing miniatures quilts. Her quilt “Dancing Dahlia” was awarded first place at the 2015 Paducah Show and also a first place at the Houston Show. Her “Daisy Chain” was awarded “Best Minia-ture” at the 2016 Paducah Show and is now in the National Quilt Museum in Paducah.
A big thank you to Evie Fell for doing fiber
identification and information on it, and for
making our Saturday workshop more informa-
tive.
