WILLIAMS LAKE BRED SALE NOVEMBER 09, 2016 Williams Lake Wednesday, November 9th, saw a powerful offering of quality
Bred Heifers and Bred cows. A capacity crowd with keen buying interest saw
Ed & Cheryl Monical’s top 1150 lb Blk bred heifers hit 2290.00, The Red
X bred heifers sold to 2100.00. Royce & Joanne Cook saw their powerful big
Blk Bred heifers hit 2100.00. Gary Cleveland of Bridge Lake had a beautiful
group of Blk heifers, they sold to 1950.00, the heavier Blk bred heifers reached
2015.00, the solid Red bred heifers sold to 1900.00. Andy Meints of Meints
Cattle Co had a ring-full of incredible Red Angus bred heifers top 2260.00, the
Blk bred heifers hit 2160.00. SK Ranches with 100 top Blk Angus heifers to-
day, they traded 1850.00. Bissel Spur Farms Blk Angus bred heifers reached
1900.00. Older mature bred cows sold mainly from 1000.00 to 1300.00 per hd.
An incredible dispersal sale of young Red Angus cows from
Helki Lauren, saw their 2nd calvers reach 2360.00, the 3rd calvers hit
2275.00. A sincere thank you to all our bidders, buyers and contributors for
one stellar sale of quality breds. Thursday in the regular sale we saw mainly
butcher cows & bulls with 700 on offer. The Douglas Lake Cattle Co– Alkali
Lake Ranch Division saw their liner load of 1266 lb butcher cows power
to 79.75. Their young pen of 3 year olds raced to 95.25. 42 hd of their 1260 lb
butcher cows raced to 84.25. Seven Quarter Circle Charolais had butcher
cows, 1450 lbs top 87.00.The Barzee Cattle Co from Clinton with 1312 lb
butcher cows marking 84.00.Next week is powerful. Wilf & Wade have anoth-
er 2000 top calves for their Special Calf Sale, Wednesday, November 16th.
Then right into a regular sale of Thursday with 700 head listed, mainly butcher
cows, bulls and yearlings.

Another great sale here on Friday with over 900 calves for sale.
We heated it up with a great bunch of Simmental h/c from Pooles Arrow
Ranch out of Punchaw where we had 626 lb h/c sell at 156.00, 549 lb h/c
up to 165.00. From Burns Lake we welcomed HRH Ventures and their 595
lb s/c that brought 169.75, 556 lb s/c climbed to 173.50 while 473 lb s/c car-
ried on to 191.00. Ridgeview Ranch (Fort St. James) in with 559 lb
s/c notching 174.25, 615 s/c settled at 167.00 and 492 lb s/c soared to
190.00. Staying with Ridgeview Ranch we find 523 lb h/c worth 161.00, 454
lb h/c topped 166.00. Canyon Creek Farms (Vanderhoof) in with top quality
Red calves like the 735 lb s/c marking 158.00, 668 lb s/c at 160.00. Also
From Canyon Creek Farms were 642 lb h/c that stopped the bid at 147.75,
506 lb h/c pushed to 154.00. Donald McKilligan (Houston) saw his 483 lb
h/c edge 152.75. Just under 100 yearlings in and we found 830 lb heifers
from Kerr Cattle Company (Telkwa) demanding 156.25. Linda Sue Kerr
(Telkwa) had 913 lb heifers bring 144.75. Rick Loreth had 820 lb heifers
right in there at 153.00. Not enough steers in to read the market. 300 plus
butcher animals rolled thru and producers enjoyed a noticeable jump in price
this week. Valley Creek Ranch (Houston) had 1599 lb cows hit 84.50. Jon &
Brenda Ziler (Vanderhoof ) enjoyed 110.00 for their butcher bull. Al-
bert & Jaqueline Tossoff (Punchaw) brought 1616 lb cows and sold
them for 82.50. Pete Penner’s 2115 lb bull forced the bid to 104.50. Vala
Farm’s ( For t Fraser ) package of 4 bulls, avg 2041 lbs hit the ceiling at
110.00, 1551 lb cows settled at 78.75. Martin & Linda Dykens (Houston) in
with 1575 lb cows racing to 84.50. Johnson Farms (Vanderhoof) 2140 lb
bull all the way to 111.00. Peebles Ranch (Burns Lake) saw their 1512 lb
cows trade at 83.25 while their young 1046 lb heiferettes climbed to
118.00.Saturday morning we went to work on 240 bred cows and heifers
from Vala Farms Ltd. A complete herd dispersal of Blk & Red Angus X
cows bred Blk Angus and 25 Blk bred heifers bred Red Angus. We started
with the heifers who sold as high as 1950.00, 3 and 4 year old cows climbed
as high as 2050.00, mature cows held in the 1500.00-1600.00 range. A great
variety of local buyers, it is great to see these high performance cows contin-
ue their career on BC Ranches. A huge thank you to Vala Farms and all the
contributors who made the Friday Sale. Also I appreciate the extra effort
from the crew to get both sales to work. Of course we thank the great host of
buyers who keep our industry rolling week after week. November 18th regu-
lar sale we expect about 200 calves and 100 butchers. Bred cow & heifer sale
should have 250 bred heifers and 250 bred cows. We’ll start calves at 10:00,
then sell breds, finishing the day with butcher animals.
November 25th looks like 700 hd.
KAMLOOP SPECIAL CALF & YEARLING SALE NOVEMBER 15, 2016
Today another wall of cattle here in Kamloops as again, just under 2000 hd of
cattle hit the sale ring. Quality again this week was first class. Bob & Donna
Leavitt put the muscle into our butcher trade, their 1322 lb cows hit 82.00.
The Philip Ranch had 1647 lb cows notch 81.75. Coquihalla Cattle Co. had
heavy 1970 lb cows top 83.75. Brent Deacon from Vernon started off our calf
sale with a solid sale of 578 lb Red Baldie s/c notching 167.00, their pen of
479 lb h/c hit 161.50. The Frolek Cattle Co. today set an excellent pen of 29,
965 lb spay heifers, they traded to 149.75. 22 hd of their 867 lb heifers today
marked 154.75. The top end of their heavy 1160 lb Hereford and Blk Baldie
steers powered to 138.00. Nick & Lonette Graffunder today saw their heavy
802 lb Red Baldie Simm X s/c reach 162.50, their 678 lb s/c saw 171.00, their
728 lb h/c saw 152.50. Jim Knight from Vernon had heavy 1209 lb steers today
reach 134.25. Jamie & Maureen Janzen saw their 510 lb Red X s/c hit 175.00,
their 715 lb s/c sold to 160.00. Dan Gagne’s 630 lb Gelbveih s/c hit 168.00,
his 600 lb h/c sold to 148.00. Dwight Love’s 670 lb Blk s/c topped 169.00.
Valley Ranch’s 593 lb Blk h/c hit 154.00. Russell Abel’s 700 lb Blk s/c top
170.50. Pan Prairie Farms of lumby had 576 lb Blk s/c top 183.25, the 600
lb Blk h/c reached 150.00. Laurie Haller had 754 lb Blk s/c hit 167.50. The 647
lb Blk s/c rolled to 175.25. The fancy 703 lb Blk h/c rolled to 153.50. The 8
Mile Ranch today, Ger ry & Corr ina Desilet set the place on fire with a top
set of Angus calves, their pen of 638 lb Blk Angus s/c hit 175.75 with the light-
er 538 lb s/c marking 187.50.

Another top sale here in OK Falls as right on 500 hd of cattle at the sale ring.
Today bred cows and heifers were on display along with a good cut of calves,
butcher cows and bulls. The T6 Ranch today saw their 2220 lb butcher bulls
power to 101.50, they also had 1395 lb butcher cows notch 78.00. The Way-
home Ranch had 1096 lb feeder cows trade to 85.50. Stirling Creek
Ranch’s 687 lb Blk s/c sold to 160.75, the 616 lb s/c rolled to 166.00 their
582 lb h/c traded to 150.00 and the 500 lb h/c rolled to 162.00. Pa-Van Ranch
of Grand Forks saw their 600 lb Char X s/c hit 166.00 and the 500 lb s/c hit
178.00. Allan Paul’s 476 lb Tan h/c topped 159.50. Don McCurdy of
Cawston had 700 lb Blk s/c hit 153.75. The 630 lb Blk h/c sold to 143.50.
Sather Ranch had 455 lb Red X s/c sell to 174.00 their top group of 625 lb
Red Baldie h/c sold to 146.50 and the 506 lb Red X h/c sold to 154.25. Cath-
erine MacDougall’s 539 lb Blk s/c sold to 171.00. Ken Casorso with heavy
659 lb Angus X and Char X s/c, they traded to 158.25. The T6 Ranch set the
pace for our Bred sale, their excellent Blk Angus bred heifers trading to
1650.00. Cheryle Smith’s fancy bred heifer s, all Blk Angus large & good

Farm of Origin” CCIA tags for untagged animals arriving at our site. Due to numerous issues, any animal requiring a CCIA tag will be tagged with a BC Livestock issued tag, and charged for the tag and chute fee. This is applica-ble at ALL BC Livestock yards.

Scott & Sherri McLeod of S&S Farms had a load of 664 Angus X s/c sell to
171.50, their 756 lb s/c hit 166.00, their fancy 558 lb s/c hit 181.00 and the 509
lb s/c rolled to 193.00. Don & Linda Lougheed had some of the heaviest calves
on the sale. Their 788 lb Blk Angus s/c hit 162.00, a fancy pen of their 483 lb
Blk Angus s/c hit 191.00.. Next week a very exciting week as Monday is our
Bred Cow & Bred Heifer sale with 500 hd on offer. Tuesday is a regular sale
with 1000 hd listed.
