Faculty of Agricultural Sciences: A leader in the field The faculty offers BSc, MSc and PhD programmes in timely and relevant topics such as biotechnology, climate, environment, bioenergy, food and agriculture. Your studies will take place in a modern and innovative teaching environment with state-of-the art equipment and facilities. Your teachers are leading and trail-blazing scientists and the teaching is research-based. Groundbreaking research The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences belongs to the world elite among agricultural science institutions and carries out cutting edge research. Sustainability is a fundamental principle. The goal is to seek solutions that contribute to environmentally and economically sustainable development of the agricultural and food industries.

Your teachers are leaders in their field. One of them is research professor Jørgen E. Olesen.

As a member of UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, he shared the

Nobel Peace Prize with Al Gore in 2007.

Admission to MSc programmesThere are specific requirements for each of the four Master’s programmes at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences. Please check the admission information for the individual programmes to see if you fulfil the requirements.

Tuition fees and scholarships for non-EU studentsAll students with citizenship outside EU/EUA countries must pay tuition fee for studies in Denmark. The faculty has a limited number of scholarships offered to highly qualified students from non-EU/EUA countries which can cover tuition waiver and/or living costs of approximately DKK 7,500 per month. Students are automatically nominated for the scholarships when they apply for admission. Citizens from EU/EUA countries do not pay tuition.

SAFE Graduate SchoolThe faculty offers PhD programmes at the graduate school SAFE (School of Agriculture, Food and Environment). At SAFE you can study research science and train to become an expert with pro-found knowledge within one of the faculty’s particular, specialised research areas. SAFE has 200 PhD students enrolled, almost half of whom are from abroad.

Core areas of research are: • Climate and natural resources• Environment and bioenergy• Organic farming• Food quality• Farm animal production• Plant production

Four research-based MSc programmes

• Agro – Environmental Management – interaction between agriculture, nature and the environment to ensure sustainable utilisation and management of natural resources

• Agrobiology – choose within three lines of specialisation: – Animal health and welfare – Plant health and nutrition – Organic farming

• Biosystems Engineering – development of ecotechnical solutions in agriculture and the production and utilisation of bioenergy

• Molecular Nutrition and Food Technology – the impact of production on the functionality of foods, their quality and their links to human health
