The box shaped kiln structure owes its shape from the insulation filling and retaining walls around the shaft. The height and cross-section of the shaft has been standardized to an optimum output capacity. Marginal variations of the shaft height (11 batches – 13 batches) are considered depending on the green brick and fired compressive strength. Nominal shaft dimensions are 1m x 2m with adjustable variations depending on the green brick length and height. The shaft size cannot be made larger due to operational problems.
