introduction

helen keller got sick and also got deaf and blind.

I think that it was hard for her to communicate clearly to other people. WHen she tried to talk to someone it may have been hard for them to understand what she said.

Page 4: kellerzw

Annie had great compassion for helen and wanted to help her learn to communicate. Annie did her best to teach helen how to understand when Annie spelled words into Her hand.

I think it was hard for helen to understand. After a lot of patient teaching from Annie, Helen started to understand sign language. The first word she learned was water.

Page 5: kellerzw

Annie was more brave when helen was small. Annie had to figure out how to teach Helen. Helen was brave as an adult because she traveled the world, even during a war!

I think it wouldn't be safe to travel where wars were happening. Polly was brave to replace Annie and take Helen all over the world.

Helen took action and she started to go to school with kids her age. Since she could not speak clearly, Helen spelled the words into annie's hand and Annie spoke the words to the class.

I think Helen will soon get to know how to talk herself.

Helen Keller kept trying to enter radcliffe and with great marks, helen entered radcliffe on july 4th, 1899 and became the first deaf and blind person to enter and complete college.

I think helen did not have a lot of friends because she could not talk and she could not hear when her friends tried to talk to her!

SHOWED COMPASSION WHEN...

TOOK ACTION BY...

MADE A DIFFERENCE WHEN..

she believed that anybody with a handicap could still learn and do everything that those without handicaps could do.
