Report on the

"Understanding the Path to Professional Career and

Entrepreneurship"

Mr. Sanjay Sunku

A talk on entrepreneurship was organized on the 27th of January 2017. The speaker of

the talk was Mr. Sanjay Sunku, Founder and Director of Versatiletech, an IT services

firm that is into quality assurance services, Web development, Project Management,

Business consulting and various other related services.

The programme began at around 12:25pm with Mr. C Manjunath giving the welcome

speech and introducing the key note speaker Mr. Sanjay Sunku. The programme was

attended by final year B.Tech students, first year M.Tech students, some pre-final year

students and a few professors.

Mr. Sunku spoke at length about the path to entrepreneurship, what it takes to be an

entrepreneur and the necessary skills a person needs to possess to become one. It was

most enlightening as it was probably the first time that someone had plunged so deep

into the topic and laid out the nitty-gritties for everybody to understand. He spoke

about the various aspects of entrepreneurship explaining in detail about who should

venture into it and who shouldn’t. In his opinion, working for a few years in a company

or two, understanding their workings, processes and protocols and then staring up a

company is the best way about it.He also spoke about the various skills one needs to

possess to work in a team and thrive. Most importantly, he spoke about the three Cs

namely commitment, confidence and common sense which one needs to possess to start

a company.

During the latter half of the programme, he spoke about the various stages of

entrepreneurship and how one should tackle them to overcome and phase through

them successfully. He also shared with us his personal experience in entrepreneurship.

He spoke about how he was passionate about starting his own venture, how he had

plans for it since he was ten years old and how he tackled various challenges head-on.

Overall, the talk was very enlightening and inspiring at the same time. The students

and the faculty really liked it. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. K.G. Poorna

Chandra Tejasvi of sixth semester B.Tech. As a token of appreciation from Christ

University Faculty of Engineering, Dr. K. Balachandran, HOD, Computer Science and

Engineering, presented Mr. Sanjay Sunku with a memento. The programme concluded

at around 1:05pm
