1. Determine the current in a series circuit

2. Determine total series resistance

3. Apply ohms law to calculate V, I and R in series circuits

4. State Kirchoffs voltage law

5. Calculate VS and voltage drop at each resistor by using Kirchoffs voltage law formula

6. Calculate Vs and voltage drop at each resistor by using voltage divider formula

7. calculate power and power at each resistor in series circuit

8. Familiar a technique of troubleshoot a series circuit.

MEASURE INDIVIDUAL RESISTANCE AND TOTAL RESISTANCE IN SERIES CIRCUIT 3. Write the objective of topic:

1. Construct the series circuit

2. Measure individual resistance in series circuit

3. Measure total resistance in series circuit.

4. Check students experience and knowledge about the topic.

DEVELOPMENT

1. Construct the series circuit(5 min)2. Measure individual resistance in series circuit(10 min)3. Measure total resistance in series circuit.

1. Introduce instrument and component. Confirm all parts are correct according to practical today.

2. Set the selector range multimeter to OHM () range.

3. Adjust the scale to indicate 0.

4. Measure individually value of resistor R1, R2 and R3 and record in a table 1.

5. Complete the question of what is the range you use to measure individual resistance.

1. Construct and connect the resistance series circuit in project board as figure 2 without connects to supply.

2. Set the scale indicate 0

3. Connect in series multimeter and measure the total resistance (RT) as figure 3.

4. Use the highest to lowest range for setting the multimeter when measuring the RT.

5. Record the value of RT in table 1.

6. Answer the question of what is the range you use to measure RT.

Answer: No

Question 2: What is the important part when using a ohm function selector of multimeter

Answer: Need to short the probe and do the ohm adjuster.
