Breakfast with Santa Front Page News with Cyanea R.!
Hi! I will be talking about Grantham’s Breakfast with Santa! This
is the second year we have done this particular Grantham Booster fund-
raising. It was really fun too! I watched the little kids’ faces light up
when they saw all the crafts and when they got pictures with Santa! For
breakfast, we ate pancakes w/butter & syrup, sausage, eggs and coffee or
juice. We painted ornament balls and made bracelets and necklaces out
of jingle bells. Colored pictures of Santa and his reindeer and wrote let-
ters to Santa! In addition, we had a lot of fun with Santa. He also gave
gift bags to the little kids who paid to get their pictures with Santa! As
you can see above, kids loved posing with a very photogenic Santa!
We want to give a shout out to the First Christian Church for letting us
borrow their round tables so the families could eat around them togeth-
er. Thank you to the community for supporting this fundraiser and
Thanks, Mrs. Heath & crew for all your hard work! This all will help
fund our new playground!
And most of all we Thank Santa for dropping down from the
North Pole for the morning to be with us!

This month we are talking about GENEROSITY!!!! Below is a definition.
Generous or Generosity: Little kid definition
- Giving money or time to help others.
Big kid definition - People who are generous are happy to use their time and money to help others. So we can say sharing is generosity! What can we share this time of year?
We asked a few kids what generosity is:
Haily G says, “Helping someone!”
“Celebrating other people’s love and care!” says Zoee R.
And Zekaé and Lindsay said that they think that generosity is to be nice to others.
And Zekaé ‘s brother Dontae, He told us that, “Generosity is sharing and that that, is what some of
the kids think generosity is.”
Angelis said she thinks” generosity means giving something to someone”.
And so we hope that you have a great holiday and a great knew year and re-
member: “It is better to give than receive, it gives you Great Joy.”
In other words it does your heart good to give to others!
Keep on giving folks! ~H Z K ~

Generosity in the Community by Karmen J. & Jenna F.
Sometimes we see at the grocery stores these signs that say “Help Hunger” or “Save the Whales” or “Children’s Gift Fund”, plastered all over the windows and they are raising money to help our people in our community. That is called Generosity. Our Community is being generous this season to other people by giv-ing donations to help many various fundraisings. If you what to be generous, think of some ways to be generous over the holidays by giving of your money, time, or talents, there are so many different ways in our community. Not only will it help other people, it will help you, by making your heart full of joy. Also have a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, or Happy New Year! Make some ones day! Be Generous!

The Sport we are going to tell you about in this newsletter is Hockey or Ice Hockey! Ice hockey is a contact team sport played on ice, usually in an ice rink (though in olden days a frozen over pond did the trick), in which two teams of skaters use their sticks to shoot a very hard rubber puck into their opponent's net to score points. Ice hockey teams usually consist of four lines of three forwards, three pairs of defensemen, and two goaltenders. Normally, each team has five players who skate up and down the ice trying to take the puck and score a goal against the opposing team.
Ice hockey is believed to start out from simple stick and ball games played in the 18th and 19th century in the United Kingdom and elsewhere. These games were brought to Canada and the United States and several similar winter games using relaxed rules were developed, such as "shinny" and "ice polo". The contemporary sport of ice hockey today was formed in Canada, most especially in Montreal, where the first indoor hockey game was played on March 3, 1875. Well, time has gone by and now there are quite a few teams in the National Hockey League! Below is a listing, so do not forget to look at it!
The other reason we are talking about Ice Hockey is that we actually have the sport here in the LC Valley! Therefore, we went to an expert in the field here at our school, Mr. David Weber! Now he is in the second grade in Mrs. Stickler’s class & is 8 years old. David plays on a team called the LC Lightning Team. He says the team members play different positions so they can learn them all! He also
says, “I like to just ice skate and that is one of the skills to be learned in hockey.” The team he plays on, practices at the N. Lewiston’s LC Ice Arena (Check it out on the web) http://www.lcicearena.com. He has been doing it for two years and it is a lot of fun! The number on his jersey is 6. David has a great time playing and his team has even won some great games lately! So if you get a chance to go skating during holiday break, go have some fun with friends and family at the skating rink! You will love it and maybe you can play a simple game of hockey!

We have a new teacher in the building we want to intro-
duce you to her! It is Miss Breeana Ragains. Breeana Ragains is
our Speech Language Pathologist ~AKA~ SLP. She works with
children who have trouble speaking or a hard time with lan-
guage. She does tests with the kids and then she helps them im-
prove that skill that needs worked on. Her favorite thing about
Grantham is how it always feels like a family. She chose to work
in the Clarkston School District because she thought it seemed
like it was a great place to work. She is getting married in the
near future. And she someday-even plans to have kids!
She went to a few colleges. She acquired her 1st bachelor’s
degree and 2nd at Idaho State University. She complet-
ed her masters at Washington State University. And if
you were wondering where Breeana Ragains went to
school in her younger years, she went to Kamiah High
School. She loves outside activities like fishing and
boating stuff like that. Also, she loves Mexican food &
Chile Relleno is a favorite!
We hope you get to know Miss
Ragains, she’s a really nice teacher and
loves working with her speech stu-
dents! She is awesome!
Happy Holidays Miss Ragains!!!
