Methodology
Mail survey Sample included Kimball, Banner and western
Cheyenne Counties Random sample of 649 households Additional 41 names of local leaders Total of 326 surveys returned (response rate = 47%)
300 surveys returned from random sample for response rate of 46%
Respondent Profile 66% live within city limits of their community Have lived an average of 30.7 years in their community Average age = 55 years 64% are females 31% have children in their household 53% have household incomes under $40,000 95% have at least a high school diploma 69% were employed on full-time, part-time or seasonal basis
(including self-employment) during 2004 76% of employed respondents work in their home or nearest community Of those driving to another community to work, they drive an average of
32 miles, one way 42% of employed report working in a professional, technical or
administrative occupation
