2018 ELCA Youth Gathering Adult Leader

Highlight:

Meet Elizabeth Wise There is so much to say about Elizabeth Wise, she has

volunteered as an adult leader with our congregation for the last three youth gatherings. She has been to New Orleans, Detroit and we are thankful to have her back for Houston.

Liz is a Librarian at Holy Trinity Catholic Middle School

and she gives a lot to this church in the summer. Liz is the Robin to my Batman, the shield to my Wonder Woman and

we are thankful for her and the ministry that she does in this place.

Liz is looking forward to helping with the young people of

this congregation and helping to keep PJ Alive.

Please keep this group in your prayers as they continue to get ready to head to Houston!!

Liz is super excited about the 2018 ELCA Youth Gathering in Houston!

CALENDAR OF CAUSES CHALLENGE

We have noticed that donations for the MONTHLY CALENDAR OF CAUSES DONATIONS have slacked off. Some of us may have forgotten that this is a church-wide outreach with different causes emphasized each month. For example, Food for Friends and Lutheran Services-Carolinas (Lutheran Homes) are this month’s causes. The items needed are listed in your weekly bulletin. Food for Friends items can be placed in the basket in front of the Youth Room window location and Lutheran Homes items can be placed in the hamper on the ramp between the Commons and the Sanctuary. Food for Friends is on the list every month due to so many hungry folks in our area. It is a sad thing to see only one or two items available to deliver for a particular month when we are such a generous congregation. It is probably the case of just remembering to place items on your shopping list and then remembering to bring to the church. You can even fill out a Non-Cash Donation Receipt with your receipts to turn in to the church office if you wish for tax purposes. Won’t you try to support our commitment to help give love and support to organizations who serve our community?

If you have become a new member since Pastor John has been here and received a member

packet, please fill out the “General Membership Information ” form inside and return to the

church office for our database. Thanks! -Gail Mosher
