An installation of giant musical instruments created by Hoot’s arts and dementia group Breathing Space was recently voted best Community Installation by visitors to Arts in the Woods high above Holmfirth. In the photo, receiving prize money of £100 are Visual Artist Andrea Freeman, (Moira (HOOT), participants Laura and Tim Varga. The installation would not have been possible without the support of relatives and Tim in particular who visited the site every day to make sure things were in working order. Breathing Space offers a range of creative activities to people living with dementia and their carer, family member or support worker.
