The KHS Trivia Night - March 28, 2020Each year this important night benefits the junior class. Trivia Night is the largest fundraiser for the

After Graduation party.The “After Grad” party, held as a lock-in after

graduation, provides a fun and safe place for students to celebrate

their graduation accomplishment. The Trivia Night raises money so that the After Grad party is

one that no student wants to miss!

Ms. Emily Kircher-Morris, MA, MEd, LPC, with “When ‘Because I Said So’

Doesn’t Work - Strategies for Parenting Gifted Students”

on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 6:30pm in the Keating Theater at Kirkwood High School

Emily Kircher-Morris hosts the Mind Matters podcast, which focuses on the development of gifted and

twice-exceptional learners through the lifespan. She works as a mental health counselor specializing in the needs of high-ability and twice-exceptional individuals

at Unlimited Potential Counseling and Education Center in St. Charles County. She frequently provides

training to teachers and counselors on meeting the social-emotional needs of high-ability and 2ed learners. Prior to

entering private practice, she worked as a teacher of gifted/talented programs and school counselor. Many of the Kirkwood Gifted Ed.

Specialists heard Emily speak in Albuquerque, at the National Association for Gifted Children Annual Conference, and knew that she

would be a valuable resource for our parents and students.

Late Arrival / Early Dismissal   - JUNIOR CONTRACT -  

  

Late Arrival / Early Dismissal will be allowed for junior students who meet the following criteria:   

1 st SEMESTER   Students must have earned 14 credits by the beginning of 1 st semester of junior year.   

2 nd SEMESTER Students must have earned 17 credits by the beginning of 2 nd semester of junior year.

● Qualified students must be in good academic standing and attend school on a regular basis. Failure to  maintain good academic and attendance standards may result in the termination of this contract.  

● Late Arrival or Early Dismissal takes the place of a Study Block. A junior student can only have one of  the following in their semester schedule: Late Arrival, Early Dismissal or Study Block.    

● Approved students should not be on campus during their Late Arrival or Early Dismissal. Late Arrival  will arrive at KHS starting 2nd period and Early Dismissal will leave campus after 6th period.  

● Students will provide their own transportation.
