Woven fabrics

Paper is classed as less than 200 gsm, board is over 200 gsm

Other materials can be added to paper and card to make it stronger, waterproof or an insulator of heat.

Hardwoods come from deciduous trees, so woods from coniferous trees

Hardwoods take approximately 10x longer to grow than so woods

Manufactured boards come in larger sizes than natural mber. They are also more sta-ble and won’t split or twist. Veneers and laminates can be added to improve their ap-pearance.

Ferrous metals contain iron and are normally magne c. Non-ferrous metals do not.

Alloys are combina ons of two or more pure metals with other elements

Thermoforming polymers can be repeatedly heated, formed and cooled.

Thermose ng polymers can only be formed with heat once. They can not be recycled.

Natural fibres can come from plant or animals sources.. Synthe c fibres are manufac-tured from oil-based chemicals.
