$3.5-10 billion.1
The CDC has revised its Guideline for the Prevention of SSI*to now include a recommendation for the use of antimicrobial sutures: “Consider the use of triclosan-coated sutures for the prevention of SSI.”2
Take Greater Controlof key risk factors related to Surgical Site Infections (SSIs)
Suture selection provides an important opportunity to address a known risk factor for infection — bacterial colonization of the suture.

Triclosan antibacterial suture use is recommended for wound closure in clean and clean-contaminated abdominal cases when available.4

The 46th Congress of KSELS & 10th International Symposium in Conjunction with the Korean Association of Robotic Surgeons (KAROS) Congress

WELCOME MESSAGEDear Friends and Members of KSELS,
We hope you and your family are all staying safe during this difficult time in the global pandemic. That is why this year's KSELS 2020 & KAROS
Congress will be held virtually with safety as our top priority.
This is our first year co-hosting with the KAROS Society (Korean Association of Robotic Surgeons) and also our 10th anniversary as an
international symposium of KSELS.
Last year’s 2019 congress established KSELS as a true international society, with the number of oversea participants more than doubling from
the previous year. In addition, the Master Class program with Hands-on Course and hospital site visits were offered for the first time and were
all well received. I think this achievement was due to the interest and unity of our members as well as the cooperation of related international
societies. Thanks to these efforts, KSELS has become an opportunity for us to grow together into a major global society.
This year, the KSELS 2020 & KAROS Virtual Congress will feature 9 Keynote/ Special Lectures including 4K Video Sessions with Invited Faculty, 40
Symposia with Live Q&A, 4 Industry Partner-hosted Satellite Symposiums, 7 Videos, 10 Oral Sessions, E-posters, and Virtual Exhibitions. You can
enjoy the Master Surgeons in the 4K video sessions and enjoy all of this online at your personal convenience.
In addition, we are preparing various events to encourage greater participation. Light meal E-coupons will be given to those who watch all the
lunchtime satellite symposiums, with fancy prizes for those who complete the sessions of the day and visit all the E-booths. Also, an E-coffee
coupon will be awarded to you for completing the session survey.
We appreciate your interest in our first online virtual congress, and hope to see you in-person in 2021 in a safe environment.
Thank you very much for your active participation.

WELCOME MESSAGEGood morning ladies and gentleman,
It is great honor and happy to welcome everybody to join our momentous congress of 46th Korean Society of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic
Surgeon in conjunction with 10th International Symposium of Korean Association of Robotic Surgeon.
Due to recent development of pandemic of COVID 19, increased travel restriction and uncertainty of worldwide participation, our organizing
committee has decided to convert the KSELS 2020 & KAROS congress into a Virtual congress in consideration of our participant's safety as well
as their intellectual aspirations.
With KAROS (Korean Association of Robotic Surgeons) as our distinguished co-host, the latest technology in robotic sector will be featured to
elevate the congress to a higher level and provide the newest technological innovations into our experiences.
Last year, KSELS 2019 welcomed about 900 participants including 200 attendees from 34 countries, which greatly contributed to the successful
congress.
This year, KSELS 2020 promise to be an even bigger events, with more participant including increased number of foreign countries.
Furthermore, esteemed president of EAES, JSES, CSLES, SAGES, ELSA and IFSES will provide us a keynote and special lectures.
In addition, we organized a special joint symposium with international society to enrich the congress and cerebrate our achievements.
It may look unfamiliar and strange, but I am sure that our congress to be held would be an informative and rewarding to all of us through the
most exceptional scientific programing based on advanced networking technology.
Finally, I would like express my sincere gratitude and respect to past president, our chairman with all the organizing committee members and
advisory committee members who have been working to create valuable and engaging virtual congress for all attendees.
Again, thank you very much for joining us and enjoy our KSELS AND KAROS congress.

ULTRA MINIMALLY INVASIVETeleflex is committed to helping make minimally invasive surgery even less invasive.
Introducing the MiniLap percutaneous surgical system from Teleflex. MiniLap instruments, with their slim 2.3 mm shaft diameters, can be percutaneously inserted using an integrated needle tip. The grasper jaws or probe can then be deployed to grasp or coagulate tissue. The patented deployment design allows grasper jaws to open up to 12.5 mm to grasp difficult structures, such as distended gall bladders. Moreover, the proprietary steel shaft provides the strength and stiffness needed for secure tissue retraction.
FEWER TROCARS• The integrated needle tip
allows percutaneous insertion without trocars
• In many cases, 2 or more trocars can be eliminated
LESS TRAUMA• The 2.3 mm diameter device needs
a minimal incision that leaves a nearly unnoticeable scar
• Without the use of a trocar, MiniLap can provide the ability to add devices for triangulation and exposure
