King Saud University

Historical Background

King Saud Universiy (KSU) was esablished in

accordance wih he dicaes o Royal Decree no.

17 o 21/4/1377H (1957). he acual sudy sared

in he College o Ars in he academic year 1377/78.

Since ha ime, KSU wen hrough many sages o

wih he UNESCO, were annexed o he Universiy.

An essenial service e o he Kingdom was underaken

by he Universiy in 1969-1970 (1389-1390), wih

he esablishmen o he College o Medicine. he

preparaory year o his college was previously

adminisered by he College o Science.

By mid-1970’s (mid-1390’s) King Saud Universiy

expanded he scope o i service, and in 1974-75

(1394-1395) he Arabic Language Insiue appeared

on he scene. he Insiue, which is an inegral par o

Language o non-Arabic speaking people.
