LAA Secure File Exchange—Uploading Files to Galaxkey

This step by step guide will take you through the process of uploading files and folders to Galaxkey.

There is information included about the types of files that can be accepted, see the LAA website for the best internet browsers to use when uploading files.

Once you have logged into Galaxkey you’ll be able to see your home page which shows your account and the workspaces you’ve been assigned. You must upload your files into the correct workspace so they are sent to the relevant LAA teams. More information about gaining access to certain workspaces can be found on the LAA website. To upload work either double click on the workspace or use the dropdown options on the left hand side of the screen.

You will be able to see your firm’s workspace and any folders already uploaded. To upload a new folder either use the upload folder button at the top of the screen or the plus sign in the bottom right.

The options will appear once you have clicked Upload. You can either upload folders or files, but they must be already saved onto your computer before beginning this process.

Click Browse which will open Your Documents.

Find the folder or file you want to upload and double click.

You’ll see the progress bar of the file uploading then Galaxkey will show the file/folder in the workspace once completed.

You’ll then be asked if you want to notify members that a new file has been uploaded. Click yes as this will notify the LAA that your files are waiting to be reviewed. This is also where you can alert the LAA that you have uploaded any sensitive or graphic material.

The file types which are accepted on Galaxkey are as follows: .docx, .doc, .pptx, .xlsx, .ppt, .xls, .pdf, .txt, .htm, .html, .zip, .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .bmp, .gif, .mp4, .avi, .csv, .json, .eml, .thumb, .vcf, .mov, .gcache, .m4v, .tts, .m49, .caf, .mp3, .opus, .gz, .log, .m4p, .dylib, .exe, .ufdr, .ini, .msg, .xry, .rtl, .xml

You will see the workspace LAA email address and the message that will be sent. If you want to make any amendments you can, before clicking send email. In the example below an amendment has been made to alert to sensitive material.

Your files/folders are now uploaded and the LAA will be able to view them.

Once uploaded you can delete, rename, copy, or move files by right clicking on the file and have the same options across the top of the screen.
