REQUIREMENTS Each lab report should have the following parts: 1. Cover Pageplease include the following information: Lab Title Name Station Section Partner 2. Prelab (Graded)The Prelab is due at the start of lab. It is graded and returned during the lab. Include it at the beginning of the report after the cover page. It is 10% of the lab grade. 3. Report BodyThe page following the Prelab should be the Lab Summary. The Lab Summary is a one or two paragraph summary of what the lab is about and what was learned. The Lab Summary should not detail the procedure (we already know what you did) but should instead answer questions like: What is the purpose of the lab? What did you learn? How could the lab be improved? On the following pages each consecutive requirement should be addressed individually. Be concise. Points are allotted per lab requirement. Read the requirements and manual carefully! Answer the questions completely. Unless part of a previous requirement, information necessary to satisfy each requirement should be included as part of that requirement in logical order (e.g. calculations, block diagrams, derivations, etc.). Charts should be scaled so that measurements can be determined accurately. Chart axes should also be labeled. Insure that the sampling frequency and sampling duration are appropriate. Nontrivial MATLAB procedures should be documented by a diary listing or a ‘.m’ file. (Simple MATLAB output commands are trivial, calculations are not). Results should be tabulated where appropriate. Include a sample calculation. Label all points used for calculations on charts.

    INTRODUCTION

The format required for ME475 lab reports is detailed below.

    REQUIREMENTS

Each lab report should have the following parts:

    1. Cover Pageplease include the following information:

    Lab Title

    Name

    Station

    Section

    Partner

    2. Prelab (Graded)The Prelab is due at the start of lab. It is graded and returned during the lab. Include it

at the beginning of the report after the cover page. It is 10% of the lab grade.

    3. Report BodyThe page following the Prelab should be the Lab Summary. The Lab Summary is a one or

two paragraph summary of what the lab is about and what was learned. The Lab Summary should not

detail the procedure (we already know what you did) but should instead answer questions like: What is

the purpose of the lab? What did you learn? How could the lab be improved?

On the following pages each consecutive requirement should be addressed individually. Be concise. Points

are allotted per lab requirement. Read the requirements and manual carefully! Answer the questions

completely. Unless part of a previous requirement, information necessary to satisfy each requirement

should be included as part of that requirement in logical order (e.g. calculations, block diagrams,

    derivations, etc.).

Charts should be scaled so that measurements can be determined accurately. Chart axes should also be

labeled. Insure that the sampling frequency and sampling duration are appropriate.

Nontrivial MATLAB procedures should be documented by a diary listing or a .m file. (Simple MATLAB

output commands are trivial, calculations are not).

Results should be tabulated where appropriate. Include a sample calculation. Label all points used for

    calculations on charts.
