Si tiene dos padrinos, tiene que ser un hombre y una mujer. Si están casados, deben estar casados por la Iglesia Católica, asistir regularmente a la Santa Misa del Domingo, y que estén viviendo su fe. Los padrinos no necesitan ser pareja. Si los padrinos son solteros, deben estar viviendo una vida honesta y casta (continencia, pureza). Las personas que viven con una pareja fuera del matrimonio no son elegibles para ser padrinos.

FROM THE PASTOR:Dear Friends in Christ,
As we approach the end of the month of June, we also prepare to say "thank you" and "happy retirement" to three members of the parish staff. Dolores Zentkovich has been our parish secretary since 2005; prior to that, she was the secretary for the Religious Education office. Dolores plans to continue to stay active in the parish as a member of the FIAT group and an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, bringing the Eucharist to the homebound. Glenna Celestino has been our Director of Religious Education for eighteen years and also directed the RCIA. Glenna will also continue to help the parish in various ways as an active member of the FIAT group and lector. Mr. Jack Mental is retiring after 7 years as Principal of St. Mary Elementary/Middle School. He and his wife Kathy will enjoy retirement in Westerville, Ohio, where they are members of St. Paul the Apostle Church.
As you know, we continue a search for a new principal. We have also been interviewing for a couple of open teacher positions. Dominga Chatman, who has been our school secretary, will take over as parish secretary in July. We are working on plans for a new approach to our PSR (religious education) program and will be working on having a new director in place before Labor Day.
This week, we sent a letter to all families with children enrolled in St. Mary's School announcing our plans to resume in-person education on August 31 with a full schedule of classes and educational activities, Monday through Friday, from Kindergarten through eighth grade. We have more than adequate room in the school to provide for social distancing and other precautions that may be needed. The school office is open this summer and accepting applications for the coming school year. Enroll your children and grandchildren now!

“SHINE LIKE STARS”We are finishing our long-term project of restoring all the stained-glass windows in the church and the last window to be restored will be re-installed in the North transept this month. The scaffolding currently set up the South transept will also allow us to paint the walls and ceilings to match the were painting executed last year in the North transept. Renting the large and highly specialized scaffolding is costing a little more than $9,000.00. To defray that cost, we are asking parishioners to sponsor one or more of the gold stars that were painted on the transept ceiling. There are about 160 stars, and you can sponsor one or more for just $50.00 each. If every star is sponsored, that will defray the cost of the scaffolding. You may mail in a check, or place your contribution in an envelope marked “shine like stars” and put it in the collection basket at Mass. All contributions will be acknowledged in the bulletin, so please include your name with your contribution (unless you wish to be anonymous).
Do all things without grumbling or questioning, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world (Philippians 2:14-15).

DEL PÁRROCO:Queridos amigos en Cristo,
A medida que nos acercamos al final del mes de Junio, también nos preparamos para decir "gracias" y "feliz jubilación" a tres miembros del personal de la parroquia. "BRILLAR COMO LAS ESTRELLAS"Estamos terminando nuestro proyecto de largo plazo que es restaurar todas las ventanas de vidreo de la iglesia y la última ventana que se restaurará se reinstalará este mes. El andamio actualmente establecido al lado de la ventana que se esta restaurando también nos permitirá pintar las paredes y techos para que coincida con la pintura diseñada el año pasado en el lado Norte. Alquilar el andamio grande y alto especializado está costando un poco más de $9,000.00. Para sufragar ese costo, estamos pidiendo a los feligreses que patrocinen una o más de las estrellas de oro que se pintaron en el techo de la ventana. Hay alrededor de 160 estrellas, y puede patrocinar una o más por solo $50.00 cada una. Si cada estrella es patrocinada, eso sufragará el costo del andamio. Puede enviar por correo un cheque, o colocar su contribución en un sobre marcado como "brillar como las estrellas" y ponerlo en la cesta de la colección en la Misa. BISHOP’S ANNUAL APPEAL“Living the Joy of the Gospel,” the theme of the Bishop’s Annual Appeal, inspires us, as people of faith, to share joyfully the Good News of Christ to those who most need to feel His love. Works of kindness and assistance, sometimes in the smallest way, can bring about a profound change in a person’s life. Through the Bishop’s Annual Appeal, we have the opportunity to bring about a positive change in the lives of many of God’s people. Through your generosity, you are supporting the various ministries and programs that are vital in spreading His love. July 11/12 is Commitment Weekend for the Appeal, at which time you can make your gift or pledge. Our parish has been asked to raise $71,131.60. We can accomplish this if, after prayerful consideration, everyone gives what they can. Any amount raised over our goal will be returned to our parish to be used for our particular needs.

CONFESIONESViernes 5:00-6:00 PMsábado 4:00-4:30 PMBAUTISMOS – Los padres de familia tienen que estar registrados en la parroquia y deben asistir fielmente a la Misa; Los padrinos deben de ser Católicos bautizados que hayan recibido el Sacramento de la Primera Comunión y Confirmación, que estén viviendo una vida honesta, y ser mayores de 16 años.Cada niño necesita por lo menos un padrino o madrina. Si tiene dos padrinos, tiene que ser un hombre y una mujer. Si están casados, deben estar casados por la Iglesia Católica, asistir regularmente a la Santa Misa del Domingo, y que estén viviendo su fe. Los padrinos no necesitan ser pareja. Si los padrinos son solteros, deben estar viviendo una vida honesta y casta (continencia, pureza). Las personas que viven con una pareja fuera del matrimonio no son elegibles para ser padrinos.
MATRIMONIO – La Pareja debe tener una reunión con al sacerdote por lo menos seis meses antes de programar la boda. Por lo menos una persona debe estar registrada y estar practicando su fe.
