Completing the NSTX Upgrade Project on cost/on schedule is a high priority for PPPL:

• NSTX is PPPL’s flagship experimental program– Represents approximately half of the Laboratory’s funding– Research is conducted by a collaborative research team of

physicists and engineers from 30 U.S. laboratories and universities and 28 international institutions from 11 countries

• NSTX recently experienced a run-ending hardware failure– Cause identified and independently reviewed– OFES approval to proceed with project– Project plans have been accelerated
