BLOCKBlock finished Scarf to specified dimensions as follows:

Dampen your Scarf.

Use a yardstick to find the center of your blocking surface. Working out from the center, divide the surface into fourths and then into eighths, marking the recommended blocked measurements at each of these points.

Lay the center of your project onto the center of the blocking surface and pin in place. Gently stretch out the edges, pulling as far as possible without distorting your knitting. Place a pin every inch or so.

Let dry completely.

Design by Lois J. Long.

GAUGEExact gauge is essential for proper size. Before beginning your project, make a sample swatch in the yarn and needle specified. After completing the swatch, measure it, counting your stitches and rows carefully. If your swatch is larger or smaller than specified, make another, changing needle size to get the correct gauge. Keep trying until you find the size needles that will give you the specified gauge.
