Lady Gaga is Gaga for Who?!
Do you remember that song kids would sing in elementary school when two liked each other in
that way and all of the other students were bent on making them feel awkward? It went
something like “Billy and Sally sitting in a tree, K – I – S – S – I – N – G. First comes love,
then…” I bet you remember now. Well apparently, Billy and Sally have since gone their separateways and have hardly spoken since the fourth grade. Oh, bummer. But the couple “sitting in a
tree” who should be getting attention now is pop star Lady Gaga with international villain and
symbol of Christian scorn Judas Iscariot. Yes, it’s true. Haven’t you heard? They’ve had a crush
on each other for a long time now… or at least the one has on the other. So this is shown in one
of Lady Gaga’s newest hits. From even a quick survey of some of the lyrics, one can easily see
how this could offend upward of two billion people (the global Christian population) and
considering that Jesus is considered a holy prophet in Islam (seriously), I’m surprised that a
billion Muslims aren’t threatening jihad. Here’s just a peek at what we Christians find so
disgusting:
“I’m just a Holy Fool, oh baby he’s so cruel
But I’m still in love with Judas, baby
I’m just a Holy Fool, oh baby he’s so cruel
But I’m still in love with Judas, baby
“Oh oh oh ohI’m in love with Judas
“Oh oh oh oh
I’m in love with Judas
“Judas! Judaas Judas! Judaas
Judas! Judaas Judas! GAGA
“I couldn’t love a man so purely
Even prophets forgave his crooked way

I’ve learned love is like a brick you can
Build a house or sink a dead body”
The music video includes even more goodies: Judas is a leather-jacketed biker who isaccompanied by the other apostles disguised as bikers. Nothing wrong with a little freedom of
expression, right? Oh heck there is something wrong! Do you think that the Lady (it pains me to
even call her that) could have gotten away with a song about loving MLK-assassin James Earl
Ray and graphically singing about how the bullet ripped through King’s brain? She would
suffocate under all the letters threatening to sue for “hate crimes.” What if she sang in depth
about loving revolutionary mass murders like Mao or Stalin? Do you think she would be getting
as much attention for a chorus that went “I’m just the Fuhrer’s tool, oh baby he’s so cruel, But
I’m still in love with Adolph, baby”? I’d bet a million deutschmarks that the FCC would be all
over her for hate crimes. Why? Because all of the individuals mentioned here murdered people.
But Judas? Oh, don’t worry about him. He’s practically a good guy… except for that whole“condemned to death the Son of God” thing. Am I the only one who finds this song utterly
insane? Christians should not be afraid to stand up and demand action against blasphemies as
severe as this. Lady Gaga is allowed to sing about loving the Christ-killer on government-
controlled airwaves but the world will end if kids pray to that same Christ in government-
controlled schools? Wasn’t America all about “equal protection under the law”? I guess not… or
at least not anymore. I’m not saying that the government should ban or censor the song. I’m all
for freedom of expression but this doesn’t mean that I approve of what is being freely expressed.
I’d like to hear your comments on this? If anything, what should be done in response to this
song?
