Anna Goodman is currently enrolled at Westminster College’s Gore School of Business and is pursuing a double major in economics and marketing while competing for the Westminster Ski Team. She hopes to link her athletic career with her business degree after graduation in 2016.

Anna has proven through athletics that she is capable of being one of the best in the world in her chosen field. Goal setting, determination, and drive helped her become a world-class slalom skier, Olympian, and multiple World-Championship team member. Her perseverance has been portrayed through the ups and downs of her athletic career. Despite tearing her anterior cruciate ligament in her knee two months before the Vancouver Olympic Games, she patiently worked harder mentally and physically than ever to ensure her participation. Not only did she participate, but successfully competed at the Olympic Games despite her torn ligament. She showed that one can never give up, and that patience and hard work will lead to success.

Anna blazed a trail as one of the top female slalom skiers in North America over her last five years on the team. She played a key role in her team ascending to the top of the World Cup Tour and obtaining the best ever results in the history of the organization.

After her retirement from the Canadian Alpine Ski Team Anna founded “The Ski Racing Sisterhood,” an all girls summer ski camp. The camp is a way for Anna to reintegrate the skills and knowledge she has learned over a successful athletic career and give back to the next generation of ski racers. By sharing everything that she learned from racing at the most competitive levels, living on the road, and bonding with her teammates, she hopes to inspire younger racers to follow in her footsteps. Commitment to the sport and mental toughness are both major factors in ski racing, but Anna hopes to show that leading an active and healthy lifestyle, respecting your peers, and finding a way to gain something positive from every experience are very important parts of the sport as well. Anna hopes to empower girls by showing and teaching them that being a strong, confident woman is beautiful.
