Find TsillyWho’s Tsilly? He’s the elusive Lake Chelan “mon-ster” and he’s visiting lots of different local busi-nesses throughout the Lake Chelan community this Winterfest. Those who spot him can win prizes, including buttons and enter to win a grand-prize weekend of fun in Lake Chelan. Find Tsilly is a great Winterfest vacation activity and a wonderful way for guests and residents to support local busi-ness.

Anyone who wishes to participate can pick up a “Find Tsilly” passport with the names of all the participating sites, and get their passport stamped or signed for each Tsilly they spot. There is no charge to participate, and the hunt starts Janu-ary 16th and lasts through January 25th. The first 500 Tsilly seekers to get their passports stamped or signed at fifteen or more sites can bring their passports back to Riverwalk Books to collect prizes. Collecting store stamps or signatures at twenty or more businesses will entitle diligent seekers to enter in a grand prize drawing on Janu-ary 31, 2015.

Grand Prize: 2-Night Stay at Darnell’s Lake Resort, 4 Passes to Slidewaters Water Park, and a $50 Gift Certificate to Lakeview Drive-In. For more information about hunting for Tsilly, call Riverwalk Books at 509-682-8901.

Snowflake LaneYour Winterfest Button gets you access to one our most popular kids’ areas at Winterfest! Make your special super hero cape or a homemade gui-tar – it’s a load of fun and a great place to warm up. We’ll also be showing movies throughout the weekend at Campbell’s Resort:

Ice SlideShow your Winterfest Button, grab a sled and take a ride on the slide made from 12,000 pounds of ice! Great fun! Open Friday, Jan. 16 from 3pm to 7pm, on Saturday, Jan. 17 from noon to 10pm.

Ice BarThe Ice Lounge is THE place to be! This year, with

two separate bars and an ice center piece, you’ll never want to leave. Live music on tap Friday and Saturday-- check out the music schedule on page 5.

Ice Block CarvingsPart of the magic of Winterfest is watching the artistic work of several incredible ice sculptors. Watch as they turn 12,000 pounds of ice in to beautiful pieces of art. You can catch the ice carv-ers at work at these times throughout the week-end:

KlapadoowopellaKlapaDooWopella is one of the world’s oldest ongoing musical ensembles devoted exclusively to singing a cappella. KlapaDooWopella specializes in traditional Croatian “Klapa” singing. Klapa sing-ers are a cappella minstrels that hang out on boat docks and street corners along the Adriatic coast of Croatia.  The passionate harmonic blend of tra-ditional Klapa songs evokes uncaught fish, rag-ing seas, and lost love. Despite forays into other genres, the quartet always returns to its first love, the moan of the sea that is the primal chord of the Klapa song.

Enjoy the strolling a cappela group throughout downtown Chelan on Friday & Saturday, January 16-17 from noon to 4pm each day.

SoupfestOn Friday, January 16, local restaurants serve up their best soup, and you get to vote on your favor-ite--the winner receives bragging rights for the rest of the year. This event is free and open to the pub-lic. From 6pm to 8pm downtown Chelan on Woo-

din Avenue. Grab your voting tickets and tastes and listen to the live music on the Main Stage. Taste warming soups from:

• Campbell’s Resort

• Lake Chelan Artisan Bakery

• Legend Cellars ‘The Patio’

• Green Dot Sub Shop

• Deepwater Inn – Gunther’s Fish & Chips

• Taco Chava

• Senor Frogs

Winterfest ParadeStarting at 6pm on Saturday, January 17 on John-son Avenue, come watch the evening Winterfest parade as they head to Don Morse Park for the Polar Bear Splash and Fireworks.

MANSON EVENTS Lake Chelan This Week Winterfest Issue 2015 19

Ice Block CarvingsPart of the magic of Winterfest is watching the artistic work of several incredible ice sculptors. Watch as they turn 12,000 pounds of ice in to beautiful pieces of art. You can catch the ice carv-ers at work at these times throughout the week-end:

• January 23rd: starting at 12pm in Downtown Manson

• January 24th: Noon-6pm in Manson Bay Marina

Taste of MansonManson, the Village by the Bay, is a small, quaint community about seven miles up lake from down-town Chelan. This little community is thriving with great restaurants and the Taste of Manson is an excellent opportunity to get a “taste” of them all!

The Taste of Manson takes place Friday, Janu-ary 23rd from 6pm to 8pm and is free to partici-pate with your Winterfest button. Check-in onsite and receive tokens for up to 8 tastes. Restaurants

are all within an easy stroll from one another. Fin-ish off your evening listening to live music, grab-bing a full dinner from your favorite spot, or sam-ple some of the beers at the Winterfest Alefest. See all the details of the 2-day Ale & Cider Tasting on page 16.

Live MusicDuring Winterfest Alefest, we’ll have live music beginning at 5pm both Friday, January 23 & Saturday, January 24. See the live music lineup on page 16.

ZuZu African Acrobats presented by Numerica Performing Arts CenterFresh from their appearance on NBC’s “Ameri-ca’s Got Talent” these amazing performers create a high energy choreographed show involving fast pyra-mid building, limbo, con-tortion, and all sorts of bal-ancing feats. Their perfor-mance will also include a multi-cultural educational element.  Perfect for the whole family and espe-cially the youngsters! This performance is presented through a partnership between Winterfest and the Numerica Performing Arts Center in Wenatchee . . . and made possible by Van Doren Sales and a grant from the Chelan Man Mul-tisport Foundation. The quintuplet of acrobats will

put on an exciting show for the community at 2pm Saturday, Jan. 24 in the North Shore Bible Church gym, 123 Wapato Point Parkway. Tickets available for purchase or free if you have a Winterfest Button.

Ice Tower LightingOur team of ice carvers will be carving the Ice Tower all day Saturday, January 24 at the Manson Bay Marina. Make sure you check out their prog-ress and then head back down at 7pm to watch the ice lit on fire!
