Dear Lakeview Families,

This week was teacher appreciation week and all the teachers want to thank you for

recognizing them. A big thank you goes out to our PTSA for a wonderful lunch hon-

oring the teaching and support staff! Our PTSA has been such a support to the

school this year.

Speaking of PTSA, some of our parents will be moving on from Lakeview this year

as their student graduates and moves on to high school. This will leave some open-

ings on the board. Being involved in PTSA is a great way to be involved with your

student’s education. Please think about getting involved.

Next week will be a busy week. Eighth grade students have been preparing for the

community interviews on Wednesday and Thursday. They have been working in

their English classes to prepare a cover letter, resume, application and portfolio of

their work. They will present these to a community member in an interview. On

Thursday, May 14, the parents of our incoming 7th graders are invited to an infor-

mation night at 6:00 pm in the multi-use room. Teachers and administration will be

giving an overview of what to expect in the 7th grade. On Friday, May 15, 6th grade

students will come to visit in the afternoon. They will experience a pep rally in the

gym and then follow a schedule of 4 classes where they will be getting information

about what to expect next year. The students really enjoy this day.

On Friday, May 15, our PTSA will host a PTSA day at Ozzie’s Gellato from 12:30-

4:30. A portion of the sales will come back to PTSA. Go on over and get a yogurt.
