She attended high school in McLaughlin, Minneapolis and Eagle Butte. She was a very active girl, she enjoyed participating in track, ar- chery, and basketball. Whatever sport she took part in she did her best. She also enjoyed dancing. She tried traditional, jingle and decided she would do fancy shawl. Her favorite thing to do was ride horses. She spent a lot of time out at her Lala Anthonys just to be around horses when she was younger. She preferred to ride bareback most of the time. Danita loved challenges, this caused her to do things she was asked NOT to do. She got into the suicide horse race in Kenel a couple years ago and came in first place. Her dream was to graduate high school, so she could go into the Marine Corp. She wanted to travel, wanted to see other parts of the country, and meet people. Danita was a quiet girl most of the time, however, a very friendly person. We miss her so much already. Survived by: paternal grandmother, Nina Mata, her dad, James Mata, her two brothers, Raul Mata and Elias Sims. When I Am Gone

When I am gone release me Let me go, I have so many things to see and do

You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears Be happy that we had so many beautiful years

I gave to you my love You can only guess how much you gave me in happiness

I thank you for the love you each have shown But now it's time I travel alone

So grieve awhile for me, if grieve you must Then let your grief be comforted by my trust

It's only for awhile that we must part So bless the memories within your heart

I won't be far away, for life goes on So if you need me, call and I will come

Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near And if you listen within your heart you'll hear

All my love around you soft and clear And then when you must come this way alone

I'll greet you with a smile and say "Welcome Home."
