Coaching Qualifications
• In order to be board approved, coaches have to take the following courses:– FBI/BCI Background Check and Fingerprinting– Fundamentals of Coaching Class– First Aid, Health, and Safety for Coaches
Class (need to obtain a PAV)– Pupil Activity Verification (3 years)– Concussions in Sports Class– CPR

directly.

Eligibility• Students are expected to maintain good
grades. • Students are to obtain an eligibility form
outside of the back office each Monday for their teachers to fill out.
• IT IS THE STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITY to take it to each class to get it signed.
• This form must be returned to their coach by the end of the day TUESDAY.
• According to the OHSAA, any student that is failing TWO classes will be ineligible for any and all games the following week.
• Some coaches will bench an athlete with one F; it is at the coach’s discretion.
• If no eligilbity is turned in, the athlete will not be eligible for any games the following week.
Fees• Participation fees for the 2014 – 2015 school
year is $300. • You may pay on EZPay with a credit card or pay
with cash, check, or money order to the front office.
• Please pay ASAP. If your student hasn’t been invoiced, please call Mrs. Jones in the front office.
• Failure to pay will result in a player being benched from all games.
Transportation
• Transportation to ALL away games will be provided for all sports.
• Most locations will be considered DROP ONLY, meaning that your child will need to be picked up from the game. Individual sport coaches will have that information.– The only exception is football. There will be a bus
provided both ways to all games. Cheerleaders will need rides home from most games.
Items We’ve Provided• Volleyball Cart• Electronic Timer for Cross Country and Track• Outdoor Watering System• Portable Speaker for Cheerleading• Gatorade Water Cooler for teams• Season Ending Banquets• GMC Championship T-shirts• Framed Team Posters in Front Hallway• Wall pads in the gymnasium (split with school)
Fundraising• T-Shirts
– $20. Gets students in FREE to home games!
• Concession Sign-Ups– Parents are expected to sign up for shifts
• Fundraising – Butter Braids—need coordinator! Let us know
it you’d like to take on this role. – Yard Signs—flyers available on table.
Fall Fundraising: Butter Braids
• Starts today and goes through August 28th • Product will be delivered at the 7th and 8th
grade Curriculum Nights. – 7th: Thursday, September 11th
– 8th: Tuesday, September 16th
• Please do your best to sell at least a few to family members.
• Money earned from this sale goes DIRECTLY to RIDGE ATHLETICS!!
