authentic environment across a number of subject areas. The day’s program, coordinated by Mrs Lawrence working alongside Mrs Davies and Mrs Fitzsimons, received excellent feedback from our next generation of teachers. A big thank you also goes to many of our student who helped guide our TES visitors around the school.

A second group of 15 Master TES will participate in School Observations for the day on the 1st June.

STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL LEADERSHIP TRAINING DAY

A leadership training day was held for the Lambton High School SRC at Dixon Park SLSC on Tuesday 8 May. The main aims were to enable the 53 students to get to know each other, to realise each other’s strengths and to have time to plan the group’s activities for the next three terms. Organised by our Leadership Coordinator, Mrs

Hayden, activities included – getting to know others, team building, problem solving, communication and decision making.

Thank you to the following SRC members who volunteered to

lead the students in entertaining and thought provoking activities – Cassandra Reilly, Nicholas Bright, Josephine Muggleton, Swathy Raveendran, Emma Dean, Abby Manning, Jacob

Carson, Alexa Stuart, Lucy Ulph, Harriett Murphy, Jada Maloney, Joshua Griffiths, Shubhan Kansal, Sarah Wells, Kate Lintott, Dewmi De Silva, Nethmi De Alwis, Amanda Boon. The achievement of the day was well summed up by one of the students on their evaluation sheet – “Getting to know other SRC members so that we can work better with each other and be confident in expressing our voices and opinions”

This was particularly special for the two former students of NLPS who gave moving speeches for students, staff, parents and representatives of the Lambton/New Lambton RSL and community members in attendance.

BILL TURNER CUP 2018 Round 1 and 2 Report

On Thursday 10th May the Lambton HS Bill Turner U15’s

Squad, coached by Mr Bozinovski, travelled to the Lake Macquarie Football Facility. In Round 1 we were drawn against the highly-fancied Warners Bay HS. The game was a very tough affair, with both teams completing equal chances on goal with some excellent lead up play. Warners Bay proved to be the more clinical as they went to the break two goals up, as we just couldn’t beat their keeper. The Lambton Boys didn’t put their heads down in the second and pushed and pushed for that goal that would put them back in the game. Unfortunately, Warners Bay would catch us on the counter attack and convert twice to put the game out of reach. Warners Bay victorious 4 goas to nil. For game 2 we were drawn against Lake Macquarie HS. Our boys came out the blocks firing and were quickly up by 3 goals in the opening minutes. We would go to half time 11-0 up. Some good sportsmanship from the Lambton players to give away a few freekicks and calculated penalties to allow Lake Macquarie to get on the scoresheet, putting a few smiles through the Lake Macquarie team. The score would finish 17-4 to Lambton. Losing the first game meant we were knocked out of the competition, but the vast majority of our youthful squad can look forward to coming back next year.
