How Does the Dryer Qualify?

The new blower is now 220 CFM which provides higher airflow — enabling better, faster drying performance. This makes the dryer more efficient than the previous platform — thus qualifying for a CEE Tier I Rating.

The Great Washer DebateAre front-loaders really better?

Most importantly, a washing machine has to remove stains. While top loaders have gotten much better at cleaning, we find that on average they’re still about five percent less effective at their job.

But the gap widens significantly when it comes to efficiency. Our data shows that, on average, front-loaders clean better than top-loaders while also using about five gallons less water per cycle. We’ve found front-loaders can also cut electricity use by up to 50 percent if you’re using an electric hot water heater. It all has to do with design. Washing

machines remove stains by moving clothes through detergent and water, then rinsing out any excess soap.

Traditional top-loaders “float” clothes in water, moving them around with a pole-style agitator. Modern, high-efficiency top-loaders use a wash plate at the bottom of the drum that tosses clothes around like pizza dough, but they still require lots of water for rinse cycles.

Electrolux Washers and Dryers Fit Through Nearly any Doorway. Most household doorways are 30" wide and too narrow for some competitor models. Our front load washers and dryers each measure 27" inches so they will fit through most doorways for easy installation.

Reversible DoorsAllows consumer to place washer on right or left of dryer to accommodate plumbing. Available on select models only.

Second Floor GuaranteeState-of-the-art technology keeps even oversized wash loads balanced for smooth, quiet operation. Perfect for installation upstairs — even near bedrooms. Perfect Balance® uses the dual shock absorbers and the mass damper to take the energy from the vibrations and keep centrally located in the middle of the unit (same technology used in S.F. and L.A. skyscrapers). How Induction WorksUnlike radiant electric or gas, induction cooktops utilize powerful magnets to create heat directly in metallic-based cookware.

Once the pan is on the cooktop surface, magnetic sensors detect the cookware and automatically adjust to the size of the pan.

The Science Behind Induction CookingCopper coil creates a magnetic field. When an electric current passes through the coil located below the cooktop’s surface, it creates an electromagnetic field of energy.

Pan uses energy to produce heat. When a magnetic metal pan is placed on the induction cooktop, energy goes directly into it, bypassing the surface. This causes the iron atoms in the cookware to vibrate, which creates heat so when they vibrate slowly on lower settings it is perfect to cook chocolates and other delicate foods. When the atoms vibrate rapidly on higher settings creating more heat, consumers can cook foods quickly. This is how the pan is creating the heat needed to cook food, not the surrounding cooktop.

The performance of a ventilation system is measured in cubic feet per minute (CFM). The higher the CFM, the more air the hood can remove in one minute of operation. Size, fuel type and the number of elements / burners the customer uses at one time all affect the choice of a ventilation hood. The ventilation requirement for electric cooktop is lower (200 to 450 CFMs) while a gas cooktop may need 600+ CFMs. Gas CFMs are usually based on the following math: total BTUs available for the cooktop divided by 100.

Ventilation EducationChoosing a Ventilation Hood

Hood InsertDowndraft Vent

Cooking produces grease, moisture, heat and smoke that can take a toll on cabinets and walls over time. Pair a ventilation hood with a cooktop or range for maximum odor removal and ventilation.

CFM Knowledge CenterThe power or air movement for ventilation hoods is measured in CFM (cubic feet per minute). Choosing a range hood with higher CFM results in more air being moved out of the house, a plus for removing smoke and bad odors.

• For cooks that do a lot of heavy cooking with steam or strong odors, recommend a ventilation hood with at least 350 CFM.

• For high-output gas ranges or cooktops, the minimum rate of 1 CFM of ventilation per 100 BTU is recommended.

Total Cooking Surface BTU OutputThe burners on a gas cooktop surface produce a lot more heat than those on an electric, so a kitchen with a gas cooktop requires a larger capacity ventilation hood.

To calculate the fan size needed for a gas cooktop surface, combine the BTU ratings for all the burners, then divide by 100 to find the minimum CFM needed.

Example

40,000 BTU gas cooktop ÷ 100 = 400 CFM ventilation hood or higher

Performance and Maintenance Continuous use of a ventilation hood while cooking helps keep the kitchen comfortable and less humid. It also reduces cooking odors and soiling residue that create a frequent need for cleaning. The efficiency of the ventilation hood depends on the cleanliness of the intake and filters. Grease should not be allowed to accumulate on hood or filter. Grease and buildup in the exhaust system will block the flow of air, rendering it less effective in removing smoke and odors. Our filters are dishwasher-safe making cleanup and maintenance a breeze.
