Lauren is an experienced accessories designer and developer who has recently returned to Australia after working in the UK. She is passionate about range development and telling a brands’ story through her work. This passion has led to her involvement in brand development and creative direction for accessories, print development and fashion collections. Lauren has been involved in commercial design development and high fashion accessories styling projects and events. This experience makes her a versatile designer who can identify trends and adapt her skills according to a project brief and market. Working with a production unit in Malawi, Africa Lauren has unique ‘on the ground’ experience which included sourcing, sampling, fitting, costing, QA and production management. Lauren holds a Bachelor of Design in Fashion & Textiles from the University of Technology, Sydney.

CLIENT: Mayamiko Designed ROLE: Accessories developer SS13 BRIEF: Develop a small range of fabric based accessories which can be created with the resources and materials available locally in Lilongwe, Malawi and sold to the UK and Australian market. The range is designed to be expanded and updated with different prints and fabric combinations each season. ABOUT THE COLLECTION: The collection features limited edition prints in vibrant hues and gorgeous tie dye, batik and dip dyed fabrics created by local artisans. Mayamiko Designed offers contemporary high quality accessories featuring quilted detailing, leather straps and striking fabrics.

CLIENT: Mayamiko Designed ROLE: Print and fabric development for accessories SS13 BRIEF: Develop a collection of dye and print effects which will be used for the Mayamiko Designed range of accessories, home ware and lounge wear. Malawi has limited availability of fabrics (limited to African prints and imported Chinese poor quality fabrics). ABOUT THE COLLECTION: Featuring batik, dip dying and tie dye the simple geometrics and soft hues are contemporary and casual, perfect for Summer. Working with a local artisan whilst in Malawi these fabrics are designed to give the brand more versatility, allowing the print collection to evolve and develop each season.

ABOUT THE COLLECTION: A collection of accessories designed to compliment a fashion range showcased at the INSPIRED fashion showcase in London. Featuring copper foiling, braided bands and leather look material these cuffs and bracelets have a futuristic feel to them and add a high fashion edge to the look.

ABOUT THE PROJECT: This beret was designed and created for London based Jazz & Cabaret performer Marika Rauscher for a promotional campaign photoshoot. Embellished with swarovski crystals and feathers this beret adds glam and edge to the performers look.
