LN Student-Athletes of the Week

Caroline Salvas, Golf and Donaven McCulley, Football

Salvas, a senior, led the girls golf team to a 2-0 start to the season with wins over Warren Central and Pike. During the Pike match at Saddlebrook Golf Club, she fired a (+1) 36, equaling the LN school record of one-over par for 9-holes. McCulley, a junior, threw for 187 yards and 4

touchdowns in limited action in the Wildcat football team’s dominating 55-0 win over Perry Meridian. He was recently named to the Indy Star pre-season All-Metro team.

Team Reports Cheerleading/Super Fans/MPLT: The Wildcat cheerleaders and super fans who traveled to Perry Meridian had a great time watching the team dominate Perry. Come on out to the season open this Friday night, and get there early! We’ve got a big tailgate planned! WTHR-13 will be at LN for live pre-game shots for their broadcast between 5:40pm – 6:20pm, WZPL radio will be here as well providing music in the tailgate area, and Papa Johns will be here giving out free pizza to students who get here early! Football: The Wildcats dominated Perry Meridian 55-0 on Friday night. QB Donaven McCulley was 12-17 for 187 yards and 4 TD’s, Keyshawn Smith scored 2 touchdowns, including a 75 yard punt return, Omar Cooper caught 2 TD passes, Armahn Hillman and Michael Rogers each caught a TD pass, and Bishr Jones ran for 114 yards and 2 TD’s. On defense, Leonard Whorton, Jeremy Lee, Courvoisiea Carter, Excell Brooks, and Kendall Green all had 4 tackles each, while Brooks, Jaden Freeney, and JaRon Jordan all recovered fumbles. Jordan also had an interception. The Wildcats (1-0) are now ranked #10 in 6A and will host 4A #1 Marion on Friday night! Get there early for the big tailgate hosted by WTHR-13, 99.5 WZPL, and Papa John’s Pizza. Free pizza for students in the tailgate area! Get there at 5:45pm!! Cross Country: The cross country teams competed in the HSE Hokum Karem on Saturday. This unique race has the competitors jumping over hay bales and racing in a two-person relay format for a combined time. The boys finished 4th overall while the girls team finished 2nd. Carol Ludington and Katie Burgin combined to take first place overall in the girls race! Girls Golf: The girls golf team went 2-0 last week with wins over Pike and Warren Central. In the Pike match, senior Caroline Salvas equaled an LN 9-hole record of one over par, firing a 36 on the par 35 Saddlebrook course. She and former teammate Abby Wischmann share the record now. Boys Soccer: The Cats went 1-0-1 last week. The team had a big win at home over 2A #2 Heritage Christian, 2-1. Goals were scored by Jorge Cuaya and David Izaguirre scored a goal each while Colm Oneacre and Ben Griffith both registered an assist. They traveled to Shelbyville and picked up a 2-2 tie with the Golden Bears. Ivan Felix and Izaguirre scored for LN. Great job, Wildcats! Girls Soccer: The Wildcats went 0-2-1 to start the season, dropping matches to tough Westfield and North Central teams before coming home to pick up a tie against New Palestine, 1-1. Ellie Bisard had the goal for the Cats. Both soccer teams had the opportunity to see the Indy Eleven play on Sunday in Lucas Oil Stadium. Boys Tennis: The Cats beat Heritage Christian 3-2 to open up the season, with Brandon Yu Ethan MacBeth leading the way at #2 and #3 singles. The team got rained out against Noblesville. The team will host Brebeuf on Thursday. Volleyball: The Wildcats started off the season going 2-3, picking up wins over Roncalli and district rival Lawrence Central while dropping matches to state ranked Westfield, Yorktown and Avon. REQUIRED IHSAA PHYSICAL & CONSENT TO TREAT/EMERGENCY FORMS

A new IHSAA physical and consent to treat forms for the 2019-2020 must be on file with the athletic office prior to any workout, open gym, practice, or competition. This is required every

year. There are two links below. One is the IHSAA physical form that must be filled out and turned in to the LN athletic office. The second is the required online consent to treat and

emergency medical information forms.

Both of these are required for any student-athlete for the 2019-20 school year. This includes summer workouts, open gym, conditioning, practice, tryouts, and of any type of

competition. No student-athlete will be permitted to work out until these requirements are completed and

submitted.

Fall Activity Bus Schedule

The fall activity busses will start on Monday, August 5th. Students who are involved in a

MSDLT is Hiring Bus Drivers!

Hey Wildcat Fans, the LT Transportation Department needs your help! We need some good individuals to fill the driver’s seat of our school buses. Help get our students to/from school,

All-Sport Passes – On Sale Now!

Adult: $70.00 LN Student: $50.00

Middle/Elementary Student: $30.00 Typically, it will cost $5.00 - $8.00 per event, so if you plan on attending a lot of home games

throughout the year, the all-sport pass is the way to go! You will receive a free LN car decal to proudly display with each all-sport pass purchased. Go to

the LN athletic office during normal school hours to purchase the all-sport pass.

Student Parking

All student drivers must have a valid LN student parking pass displayed on their car. Submit the parking application and $40.00 payment to the LN athletic office during normal school hours. A

$25 fine will be assessed to any car that does not display the proper parking credentials after Friday, August 16th. You can download the student parking pass here:

Lifeguard Training Classes Offered at Lawrence North

Lawrence North will be hosting lifeguard training class on Saturday, September 21st and 22nd from 8:00am – 2:00pm each day. Lifeguard candidates must be 15 years old, be able to

perform a 100 yard swim, 13.5 foot surface dive and 10 lb. brick retrieval, and 1 minute hands free tread. Lifeguard candidates will receive a hip pack, whistle, and mask with

registration. Upon completion of all skills to fulfill lifeguard requirements, candidates will receive the following credentials through Ellis & Associates: Lifeguard certification, CPR & AED

certification, and Standard First Aid certification. All certifications are good for one year and after a year a brief renewal course is required to recertify skills.
