It is open from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday It is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The pool house is Building 1482 and is located on 14th Ave. across the street from the fitness center and near the CSJFTC Post theatre. Special camps The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME)- US Army is hosting its annual Engineering and Construction Camp June 16-22 in Vicks- burg. The camp provides high school students with a great hands-on experience in engi- neering and construction activ- ities. Vicksburg’s wide-ranging engineering community pro- vides a wealth of offerings in cutting edge engineering top- ics. The one-week program is supervised by professional en- gineers and volunteers from engineering organizations in the lower Mississippi Valley. The crewmates (campers) are exposed to a wealth of knowledge about the various career choices in the fields of engineering and construction, focusing primarily on water re- sources engineering. Applica- tions are normally distributed to high schools in January for submission to the camp Stu- dent Affairs Committee by the middle of March each year. KENNY HATTEN CSJFTC public Affairs The Mississippi Armed Forces Museum at Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center hosted the seventh an- nual Laying of the Wreaths cer- emony May 23 to honor the memory of service members from Mississippi and other states who gave their lives in service to our nation. “At today's event we're hon- oring those Mississippians who paid the ultimate sacrifice by defending our freedom and though they're gone from us their legacy of commitment and courage live on forever,” said Brewer. “I'd like to say a special thanks to the members of the American Legion and the Veter- ans of Foreign Wars for making today's event possible. Your service to the state and America is greatly appreciated.” Brewer also commended the Families and loved ones who have supported and encouraged our nation’s service men and women during time of war. “I'd also like to recognize our military spouses. These individ- uals have supported our troops from day one and they've been critical to our victory in this war that we're fighting right now,” By MAJ. Collins, Adjutant General of the Missis- sippi National Guard and Cmd. Sgt. Maj. George M. Miller, Com- mand Sergeant Major of the Mis- sissippi National Guard. “The Guard is Family,” said Col. Smith. “Today is a day of opportu- nity that we can honor the distin- guished men and women of the Mississippi Army National Guard for their dedicated support to our Nation in times of war and to our State in times of emergencies.” While addressing the audience, Collins informed veterans and their Families of the current and future operations working at Camp Shelby.
