The LB 134 Universal Monitor II is a versatile instru-

ment for dose and dose rate, contamination and

    activity measurements.

A large number of probes can be attached to the

basic unit, which identifies the pertinent probe and

adjusts the program firmware automatically. Thus,

adjustment of detector specific parameters like high

voltage or measurement units is not necessary.

The LB 134 software provides numerous measuring

    modes and parameter settings.

n Easily configurable to ensure reliable

    and safe operation

    n Integrated dose rate detector

n Several detectors can be connected to the

    small, lightweight, portable instrument for

    various measurement applications

Whoever works with radiation sources or X-ray machi-

nes in laboratories, in radiology, in radiography or at

other technical irradiation facilities should be informed

about current radiation levels at all times.

In gamma, X-ray or neutron radiation field surveys the

LB 134 does an excellent job as a dose and dose rate

meter. You will detect reliably and quickly any increase

in dose rate at the workplace that could lead to an

    undesired exposure of personnel.

n Versatile combination system as dose and

dose rate monitor for gamma or neutron

    radiation

n Integrated dose rate detector (Geiger-

    Müller tube)

n The small portable evaluation unit LB 134

allows connection of the gamma probe

LB 1236-H10, the neutron probe LB 6411

or LB 6411-Pb for high energy neutrons

n Offers various measuring modes: cps, dose

    rate and dose integration

n Further possibility to use the LB 134 as

    semi stationary system

    No Chance for Radioactive Contamination

Radionuclides are needed and useful in many fields of

application. However, they may also be dangerous if

improperly handled. Therefore working with radioactive

materials in nuclear medicine, research or in other

fields of radionuclide applications requires continuous

monitoring to detect possible contamination of surfaces

and objects in working areas, as well as on clothes and

    on exposed skin.

Due to the large variety of external probes, the LB 134

is a very versatile system, which does not allow possible

contamination to remain undetected, irrespective of

    nuclide or location.

Moreover, for larger laboratories or nuclear facilities,

the floor monitors LB 165 and LB 166 are available to

    reliably assess widespread contaminations. Detector

ground clearance adjustable from 5 mm to 18 mm.

In order to meet radiological safety regulations for

    handling radioactive substances different sampling

methods are used in the laboratory to measure activity

such as, smear samples, aerosol filters or evaporation

    residues.

    ACTIVITY MEASUREMENT

    NUCLEAR DATA PROCESSING

    LB 1238

The LB 134 in combination with the LB 1238 probe

can be used as portable detector (e.g. in chromato-

graphy) or stationary for solid sample measurements,

such as planchets or wipe tests. For the measure-

ment of planchets up to Ø 25 mm the detector can

be inserted into the small lead chamber LB 7431.

n End-window proportional counter tube to measure

    alpha and beta activities

n Either cps or Bq are displayed: The calibration

factors can be determined and entered by the user

depending on the existing sample geometry

    n Detector size Ø 28 mm

    SURVEY

Wherever searching and fast detection of radioactive

sources in the industry, nuclear medicine, laboratories

and at authorities is in demand the LB 134 UMo II is

the ideal instrument when used with our survey probes

    for neutrons and gamma radiation.

    LB 6414

In combination with the LB 6414 probe the LB 134

UMo II is a portable neutron survey meter with ex-

tremely high sensitivity. The energy dependent res-

ponse of the instrument was maximized for fission

    neutrons.
